Hi mpc users does anyone else find the qlink controls drop in and out sometimes work sometimes not? I'm pretty sure this can't be expected behaviour?
Thanks in advance

It also happened to me, sometimes they had latency, sometimes just didn't work.
But now it's a couple of months they work right.
I don't know the reason.
Anyway a restart always fixed the problem.

Thanks for the reply yes same for me...
U twist kinda gently and nothing then u gotta wrench them really hard to wake up.. It's not good I'm finding it really annoying it makes recording automation a total pain.
Can I suggest any other mpc owners who are experiencing this fault to get on at akai about this it really cripples the flow of music making
Akai uk phone number is 01252 896040..
Please international users welcome2

Did you try a system reset?
Sometimes it works. It could be something related to a software issue.
Second thing you could try is reinstalling last update.
If nothing changes, I guess it's some hardware problem, try to change your unit

I did a midi test and all was fine that's what leads me to believe it's a software fault as I am experiencing it when using the bassline plugin within standalone.. I will try a reset but I hav experienced it with the 2.7update and the 2.7.2update.
I am in contact with akai so I will see where it leads..

Thanks

System reset didn't work problem persists like the other users say it sometimes takes 2 separate attempts to adjust qlink....

That's quite strange.
I had some issues with them, they sometimes respond after a while, sometimes they are freezed but that was once or twice a year.
I think you have to ask for another unit if system reset and uodates didn't solve the problem.

Update

It turned out the qlink insensitivity I experienced while using the bassline air synth (it could be effecting other plugins) is a bug in the firmware (confirmed by akai) and as such effects all units..
I ended up sending my mpc live back as the random nature of the fault effected my ability to record reliable automation information thus rendering the mpc live pretty useless... (for me)

I hope u all get a fix for this soon

I will wait to see what mpc live mk2 brings
Although I wasnt totally impressed by the mpc work flow..

Cheers all

Q-link latency has plagued me for years. I’ve spoken to Akai support and sent them videos and they never came back to me with any solution. Now I see two threads about it in one evening and I’m actually glad to see other people having this issue so at least now I know it’s not just me.

I don’t see this ever being fixed.

I know this is old news.... but I've come to realize that if you actually take the cap off the pot and touch the pot it will register every time. It's the caps/knobs I believe are the culprit...

I've switched around caps/Knobs on my X and got different results in the past. I also noticed My Retro Live2 Knobs register a ton better than my X.

I wonder if anyone with the MPCStuff.com Silver Bullet Knobs have this issue or not.

Touch the metal part of the back panel with your left hand and touch the qlink with your right hand, this will stabilize the qlink behavior.

Only do this once and I am good? or do I have to keep doing this? Cause sometimes I do use two q-links at the same time.
