Hey MPC community. I'm currently noticing that my MPC One sometimes stops while in play mode. Does this happen to anyone else's One? I intended to use the MPC One for playing live, but this makes it useless in a live setting. Does this happen when most of the internal memory is being used? I'm using a few effects & my current project has almost maxed out the internal memory. Also, my MPC One suddenly stopped recognizing my MPK Mini keyboard controller. The controller lights up, but triggers no sounds from the MPC. I'm wondering if i've accidentally changed a parameter on the touch screen while repositioning the One. If anyone has any tips or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated :)

Yeah can any MPC one users please help to locate the "purge samples" feature if it exists while in Stand Alone mode.

I know how to do it using the software but on the stand alone, when you click the trash icon, it only allows you to delete the sample you have selected.

Did you check the manual? It should be in there. Don't have a MPC anymore so can't help you any further.

Also have a project with maximum maxed out ram, but no issues playing it for hours, even when recieving midi clock..
Did you maybe delete some of the factory content on your internal drive (can cause all kind of problems) or do you have external midi clock issues maybe?

Unfortunately you are hitting the hardware limitations. I do it all the time for near-finished projects. The main draw is plug-ins, not memory/samples, so your best bet is to bounce down / flatten pads with an insert chain and to consider bouncing other advanced parts. The MPC seems to handle most samples with grace, it's the plug-ins that make it grind to a halt.

Another thing to try is to remove any programs that you aren't using. At least when I'm building a song, I tend to try some different programs and sometimes forget that there's a program in the project that I don't even use. As much as I'd like to think that the MPC would automatically unload stuff that isn't in use, I don't think that's the case.

Another thing is heavy automation. Especially when drawing automation on the touch screen, you end up with very dense points and every instruction adds up. Just go to the List Edit screen and see for yourself how many list items are there just for automation. You can smoothen these out using the Step Sequencer.

Despite following all of the above practices myself, I have projects that are completely unplayable standalone. There's simply a limit to what the hardware can manage and I personally wouldn't trust the MPC in a live situation, but that's just me.

For simpler projects, it's fine I'm sure. Just go easy on synth plug-ins and insert effects.
