64 GB SD card

Can I use a SanDisk 64GB card with the MPC One? I have a 1GB Roland Card that came with my sp if need be, but obv would rather not.

The reason I ask is in the SP owners manual it says it can't handle anything over 32GB, does the MPC have a limit as well? If so, am I under it with a 64 gig?

The owner's manual that came with my brand new MPC was surprisingly brief. 3 pages or so.

I use 128 GB SD card in my One without trouble so, yeah

Weird that you are seeing 32gb... (old info?)... the SD Card reader supports the SDXC format. I've got a 512gb as well that has been working just fine.

The 32GB limit was for my Roland SP404 which I just shortened to "SP". I didn't know of a limit for the MPC but was just making sure by checking in here before trying anything it might not support.

The SP line uses the older SDHC card standard, which does go up to 32GB max. The original SD Card standard went up to 1GB or 2GB (maybe 4GB, I forget), the SDHC standard allowed cards to reach 32GB but required a different way to address the cards, so you need to make sure the device is rated for SDHC to use those cards. The SDXC standard I think supports up to 2TB or 4TB, I forget.

The important thing to understand is that the readers are all backwards compatible, so an SDXC reader can also ready SDHC and SD cards, but they are not forwards compatible so an SDHC reader cannot read an SDXC card.

More or less, the cards do not overlap sizes on the standard's maximum, so it is unlikely (though possible) to find a 32GB SDXC card.

Do you know where I could find a more in depth Manual for the MPC? I do have the latest version of the Bible, maybe that is what I should just refer to from now on now that I think about it.

That should take you straight to the latest MPC manual which covers all modern MPCs (X, One, Live/Live 2, Studio 2).

The 3 page or so manual that came printed with your MPC was probably just the QuickStart manual. Even with the priciest MPC (X), they only give a printed copy of the appropriate QuickStart guide.
