Hello.
I have one program playing strong drum one-shots without quantization. Another one is playing break slices and i want snare from break hit in the same exactly grid spot as snare from the first program(no quantize).
What options do I have?

Main page -> Sequence pencil icon -> Copy events?

Or you could use the send midi feature from your drum track to your break track, though that would send all midi events (not just the snare). You could get around that with placing your chops on different pads/banks.

Good advice, man.
I come from sp-404 and Ableton, so. I am struggling with putting chops on different banks/pads. It seems that when I convert chopped break into program all slices are put in row from bank one and I can't exchange or export chops into different pads/banks like I did it easily in SP or Drum Rack. Any suggestions about workaround?

hold down 'COPY" button to copy pads within the existing program, or MAIN > PROGRAM ROW pencil > Copy Pads for more advanced options. Or use the MPC Software, where you can drag the pads around to move or copy

Unless there's a huge amount of chops, or you need different plugins in the program slots, you could just reassign those chops to add them to the other drum program, where you can easily layer single hits with break slices so that you always trigger this or that sound, when you trigger the break slice..

But I wish you could layer programs like you could on the MPC 4000, and then it was just a matter of having sounds assigned to the right pads..

But this was super useful for old Akai drum kits where placement was pretty much always the same, so you could have this main kit, and then scroll through the other loaded drum programs and instantly have all kicks and snares etc, layered with the kicks and snares of the programs you scrolled through..

So was great to test some new sounds on the fly and then you could just fine tune them separately to blend them better..

Another way to do it is to create a copy of the track that plays the single hit drums, and then swap program on the copied track to the one with slices.. Again this works best if you have a system where you place things in a certain way on the pads, so you don't have to transpose the hits to play the right pattern afterwards..

So you'll get the snare automatically layered with the correct slice..

Personally I would just create a copy of snare in the drum program, and then layer the break slice on that pad.. And make it a practice to do this right from the start so there's no need for tedious workarounds later on
