Older Versions of the MPC Software

If you need to go back to a previous MPC software version due to OS incompatibility or bugs, the following are still hosted on Akai's own site, previously published on the MPC Software product page as the 'MPC 2 Trial'. Without a serial number and iLok activation code these are just trial versions and will emit noise every few seconds.

Since the MPC 2.10 release, the MPC Software requires a minimum MacOS of Mojave - download any of the following if you have older Mac hardware that cannot be upgraded beyond High Sierra:

Choose a date just after the release of the version you need (be aware they were often quite slow to update the trial version linked on this page). Go down to 'Take a Trial' - the trial version is the full installer (assuming you've already activated via ilok)

I had to do this. I'm running a win7 machine and using a quite old version of the MPC2 software on it. I haven't had any issues with the software. Knock on wood. It's also been seamless working or moving projects from / to its sister apps.

Hi there! Have just purchased an Akai MPK Mini and unfortunately my MacBook cannot handle the new MPC software for it. Now I have downloaded on of these older versions, but it's asking for an Activation Code or iLok account. How can I get around that or more to the point, am I not eligible for one of theses older versions without having to buy a new licence? Cheers

I don't think the MPK Mini comes with an MPC Software license, you should be using the free 'MPC Beats', so this is why you are not being successful with those older MPC Software versions. You'll need to find a version of MPC Beats that is compatible with your MacOS version. I imagine MPC Beats 2.8.3 should probably be fine, although you didn't state your macos version:

Hey, I’m trying to use an older version, but my old projects aren’t loading into it properly. All the samples load but none of the sequences load, even though all the .sxq files are in the Project Data folder. Any way to fix it?

I've gone through this pain recently so just an update here in case any is having the same issues. It was a real pain to be honest - trial and error is your best bet but it will work eventually.

First, thanks to the OP for the links to the software - you are a legend in my eyes.

I did an install on Monteray and had to use (I think it was - I can't remember exactly) 2.7.2 then I was able to upgrade to 2.15 afterwards without issue.

I just did an install on Ventura - that needed 2.9 this time and again, then once installed (and allowing all the accessibility for the Touch screen to work same as the Monteray) upgrade to 2.15 was smooth.

You'll need to purchase an MPC2 license from Akai or one of their resellers. MPC Software is not free software and is only bundled with MPC models. MPC beats is free, but unlikely to support Windows 7, you'll need to check.

just by curiosity of what can i do with it now that i progressed

A new question: I got 2 device. 1- MPD218 and 2-MPC Studio 2...I downloaded MPC Software 2.8 (Win) from here. Because I use Win 7. But the programme doesn't includes MPC Studio 2. So I chosed MPC Studio Black and installed. And it accepted my MPC Studio 2 registry key. So it works but MPC Studio 2's pads doesn't match MPC Software pad's map..For example; I put a up right pad on MPC Studio 2, but program see it on the left down pad...And MPC Studio 2's pad lights also doesn't work..What can I do?
