I'm having problems with using my XYFX. I spent a lot of time building a drum program. It's a simple amen break program. So to add glitchness I used the XYFX to automate some beat repeat glitch goodness and bounce it to a sample then woyld cut that up and add I t to the program. This worked for awhile but then the XYFX just stopped working. It works fine on the outputs but that doesn't allow automation.

My workaround right now is to use the looper but it's really awkward because you have to switch pages and by the time you do, your one bar in.

Thinking that there some automation i can't find. I've tried starting a new project and importing the same drum program but the XYFX still doesn't work. If I add another drum program it works on that but just not this one particular drum program.

Does anyone know anyway a specific drum program would cause this problem or have any ideas how to fix it?

Know what would save you time? load the kit, then make another program and assign all your samples to it then save it. I wouldnt even bother trying to figure out why, I'd just rebuild the kit.

Are your pads routed to a submix? Or different outs? Its unlikely that the xy fx would just stop working without crashing your device. Id bet money that the xy you are trying to use is not on your outputs of that drum program.

I don't think they're routed to the submix.

I thought putting a xyfx on the program would be before either the outputs or submix.

Also is the output or submix selection saved with the program.

Is there an official signal flow chart?

I don’t this problem with the XYFX but I do find problems with its implementation/automation.

I understand assigning to the drum PGM but Are we limited to 1 XYFX ?
I tend to save it for my master ouptput as a master FX

So u can automate it on a program but not the master output ????

U learn something new everyday ;-)

I will assign to my clip program since that’s where most of my sounds come from anyway

Not yet I hope. This was an recent update in the Force Firmware. You can write automation on the main outputs so we know its possible. Also the XY on the Force is leap years ahead of the MPC XY pad. There's all kinds of crazy possible configurations

Put a "count in" for play and record on the Metronome. Set the Looper to Sync, and Play, with the inputs set to Resample R & L. Hit REC on the Looper then exit out and go to your XY screen. When you hit Play you'll have a one bar count in, then start XYing. It all gets recorded to the Looper. Just be sure to have Looper set to 16 bars.

Yeah, that's what I had to do. I ended up having to rebuild the kit as well.
