Holding Q-link; why is the grid of parameters horizontal?

The dials are vertical.

However, when you hold Q-link to see what the assignments are. The grid shows the parameters horizontally.

Is there a reason for this? Wouldnt it make sense to show them vertically, to match the position of the dials?

I think it's due to all MPCs sharing the same software and the earlier ones maybe had horizontal Q dials.

MPC Live mk1, all vertical here..

I guess it is because they are horizontaly organized on the X, and every MPC with only 4 rotary have that problem.

I noticed this on the Drum Programs. Other programs are vertical.

Who knows why it would be like this. Akai.

I think he means the way it's displayed on the software.
With the bottom panel displayed, with q-links set to display, bank a is the bottom horizontal strip, b the next one up etc

if the grid was vertical the order of the pads would be 1,5,9,13 and so on. its following the numbered order i think.
