Midi remote port

Are you supposed to be able to send or receive midi through the midi remote port on an Mpc one or is it just for ableton link and control?
I have it reported as connected at both ends, but getting no midi n or out.

Hasn’t Anyone wondered what the remote midi port is for ?
On windows by the way.

It sends and receives from your PC using Wifi. You need akai network midi drivers installed.

Yea, I have all them installed, and both the one and the pc recognise each other with the relevant ip addresses ,
Does anyone use the remote midi port to send actual midi data?

Yeah. It really depends what you're trying to do with it. I can send CC info from my computer DAW to MPC using remote. (selecting Akai Network MIDI as the midi input/output).

As far as I know, the only way to have MPC send back information to the DAW is with a midi track.
