Is this a thing I can get to work?
I have an Argon8's audio going into a 2i2 audio interface, which is connected to my MPC One using only the USB cable. I have an audio (not midi) track selected on the MPC. When I play notes on the Argon I get a level meter moving on the MPC which tells me the 2i2 is sending the audio to the MPC over the USB cable. But, I cannot hear anything from the headphones plugged into the MPC. Is there a setting to make this work or is the assumption that as I'm using an external audio interface I should be monitoring the audio using headphones plugged into the 2i2?

Thanks, Brad

Short answer: no. As soon as you set up an external USB audio interface to be the MPC's interface, the internal MPC audio is disconnected from the signal path. Which means all the ins/outs/headphone on the MPC are useless.

What you need to do is monitor on your 2i2. You may need to set up a monitoring input pair on that interface, and route the MPC to them. For example, on my XR18, I have audio inputs 5+6 set up as USB returns, and monitor those by setting my XR18's headphone port to monitor channels 5+6. Note that you have to change the MPC's audition channels if you do this, or you won't be able to hear sample auditions. You can do this under Preferences, I think it's under the General screen.
