Is your MPC One very buggy?

So i bought a MPC One at Christmas and due to time constraints i have only used for about 3 hours total over a few occasions but its crashed on me 3 times. Screen goes black and then it says its recovered from a error or something. Its done it when loading a sound, turning a q link in hype synth and another just using basic functions.

I am on the latest update using a sandisk ultra 128gb sd card.

Ive tried the reset parameters thing. Didn’t work.

So does anyone else get frequent crashes? Any tips to solve the crashing? Should i just wait for the next update or send it back and get a new laptop

I've had quite a few crashes but almost all were related to plugins (Hype Synth and Loom are the main culprits) and using the more processor intensive FX inserts like the AIR Vocal and Modulation ones. I might have had a crash or two just using factory Akai stuff one I first got my One but nothing specific comes to mind at the moment.

Had my One for a little over a month now and I use it daily. It's crashed maybe 8 times. Random reasons, last one I was opening a project I made. It was very simple with only a a couple very small samples so it's not like it ran out of memory. I do find it a bit troubling that I'm getting crashes for simple shit. My projects are an absolute joke in terms of complexity since I don't know how to do much yet. They're a single sequence with 1 or 2 tracks and no plugins. Since the One/Live & X all have identical hardware I wouldn't expect it to crash like it does seeing how it's been out for years now and had a reasonable amount of updates.

Maybe it's just me but 8 crashes in a month when I'm barely using 2% of the features is kind of weak IMHO. But with that said, I still love it and am glad I bought one.

Thanks for the comments so far guys looks like I’m not the only one having problems with crashing. The hardware is great there is nothing out there that can do all this in such a compact form but man the software side is so buggy. ive never had so many crashes in such a short space of time without hardly actually doing anything lol. I cant imagine using this thing live.

I will probably stick with it until the next update see what happens because i like the form factor and if akai could actually fix the bugs it would be awesome. but considering what I’ve heard about akai and their almost non existent customer service im not holding me breath lol

Are you guys saving everything to the Internal Drive? I hope NOT. A Near Full Internal Drive will give you these symptoms. Not to mention, Deleting Pre-installed files from the Internal too

I have lots of crashes mostly when trying to load an old .akp program. But occasionally I do get a random crash. For no apparent reason.
Also noticed that a usb hub or whatever is plugged into it can cause problems.
Try using it without the sd card in , or another card.

If it's crashing that often I'd recommend you getting in touch with AKAI as soon as possible, given that by the time they actually reply your device might already be unusable.

I am pretty shure it has to do with either stuff connected in your usb port or a sd card your mpc doesnt like, or a messed up or full internal drive. @op: since it crashes so often could you just try to pull out all usb drives and use a different sd card and see if it still crashes so often (if your internal drive is still ok). Like ai said, freezes are very rare for me, it should be solvable whats wrong with yours..

I’ve never had anything connected to the usb yet so it can’t be that. Im using a brand new from amazon 128gb sandisk extreme 150mbs sd card with f9 instruments installed on it and running the latest software. I might order a new sd card and do a fresh install see if that helps

USB would be my guess. I've had it happen only a handful of times to me, usually its when Im shutting down the MPC, it'll restart and give me that error. I always assumed it had something to do with the USB MIDI interface and/or USB audio interface not being disconnected or something properly. Only had it happen once while working on an actual project about 2 months ago and was super pissed I hadn't saved any of the work I had done..

I had crashes where all my drives would get ejected. It was an odd error. I stopped using a specific thumb drive and that has seemed to make it disappeared for now. I also went through my internal drive to see what maybe on it that shouldnt be.
