Hi guys,
I can't for the life of me get my Mpc Live to slave to Ableton. I'm trying to set it up the same way I had my 2500 and 2000 which was a usb -> to midi din cable out of Ableton and into MPC midi input 1
When I trigger the MPC from Ableton it just comes out a bunch of jumbled gibberish. It's like it's a faster bpm and it's cutting short, but also it doesn't seem consistent.
I've set the MPC to receive midi clock, and I have tried all the input selections; master, control & track selected separately as well as all together. There are no differences in the result
Midi out in Ableton is just the usb interface with "sync" selected. It's worked fine on other machines but it just drives the Live haywire.
Does anyone have any ideas? I've heard the lives don't like to be midi slaves but for the way I have my studio wired it makes sense to for me to do it this way? Is this just a fool's errand? I've been scouring the manual and YouTube videos and such for awhile but I'm pretty fried now.
Best,
D
