MPC X Audio Distortion

I recently brought my first MPC namely the MPC X and am finding my way through the workflow, slowly but surely.

I have started having severe audio distortion on my outputs including headphones and at any volume.
The problem includes all plugins, programs etc and it seems to happen both in standalone and controller mode.

I am using the MPC as an interface with the outputs connected directly to my powered studio monitors.

Having over 30 years of digital recording experience I am fairly sure that this is not a setting because it comes and goes by itself, not often and not regularly but when it does the sound is completely distorted.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Make sure you are running the latest firmware (2.10.1) and after updating, go to PREFERENCES > INFO > RESET PREFERENCES. If it still glitches, you probably have a dud, send it back to the retailer for refund/exchange.

Cables or dirty loose TRS port maybe? Are you seeing the distortion on the VU as well or just getting it distortion on the way to the speakers/headphones? Do you have autosave on? What's your processing percentage when it happens? If too high, your audio will start to distort. You say it comes and goes. Do you do a reset then its fine or does it happen and then goes away quickly without your input?
