External reverb

Do you think it's possible to use an external real reverb in send return with Live?

Why wouldn't it be? And no, I'm not trying to be snobby or coy or anything - I'm just wondering why you couldn't. Send a signal out through one of the extra outs, then back in through the input and re-sample.

If you just want a different reverb on the sounds, you may have to use your reverb as an outboard effect through your mixer or in-between your MPC and your monitors. I have a couple of engines in aux sends for doing that sort of thing (reverbs on one, delays on another). I can mix the dry signal and the wet signal and get the best of both worlds. You can do that in software, too, but I'm old and stuck in my ways of using hardware.

Or maybe better I send the output out from output 3and 4 in the reverb and then from reverb to mixer since live doesn't have a return. Meanwhile all the dry signal from output 1 2 to mixer and I mix

Yea you can make a copy of the program and really tweak it for your effects tracks. Many complain about the quality of the effects but when stacked and sent to external effects they are really amazing. Like really really amazing.

An example of the way I do it it take an eq into a synced delay then a little bit of one the reverbs then out to my effects box fully wet and track it back in as an effects track. Then it can be tweaked further.

I haven’t mastered this but it impresses me every time.

I am using alesis microverb. But I also wanna try with kaoss pad 3 in send mode.

Actually my tascam mixer has built in effects to use in send return for the channels, maybe the quickest solution would be to output mpc in different channels and use the mixer effects accordingly. I have to find what sounds better.

Keep in mind you can stack 4 effects on the pad, program, output and master levels respectively....

Yes i know but I don't really like the sound of the reverb. As for the other effects it's ok, they are usable but not the best and I really miss an arp gate.

They aren’t the greatest but you can use them to enhance good reverbs. I use it very subtly into other things and they seem to really help out.

There are endless configurations.

People are really conditioned to expect enhanced GUI for effects. Sometimes I think it subconsciously colors their opinion of the quality of the actual results.

People are also conditioned to patches being drenched in reverb and fx to make them sound huge, and then wonder why their mixes are a muddy wall of sound.

I agree with both, however I am guilty of The muddy mixes too.

If not using the internal reverbs, I send the sound fully wet to output 3/4 where it goes in the Ipad and then back to the MPC to be sampled.
Then I add this new sound as new layer

Now, with an external interface, you could
1. send a submix to a external FX processor like a reverb and
2. have it return in an audiochannel, armed and routed to an "FX returns" submix.
Right?

I've Noticed a Weird Change in the Reverb/Delay Initial Settings. Since 2.8...the Initial default Mix Settings are set to 100% for some reason. It used to have a Default setting of like 30% Mix. When the Default Setting is at 100, It washes out everything. So when Someone applies a Standard AIR Reverb or Delay, it sounds Crappy. Most people just skip right by it, or never use it. They Assume the AIR Reverb/Delay are crappy.

But if you set the Mix to 30%ish and put the Ratio back to Dead Center (100:100) People probably would use it more versus using outboard gear.
