Has anyone else with both machines experienced this?

I'm still struggling with navigating around certain things on the MPC Live 2, but the more I'm using it, the less I'm using my MPC X. This is especially true when I take my morning trips to the beach and spend my evenings in the woods behind my home. There's something about the freedom I feel not being tethered to my home studio.

I even took it with me to the doctor's office for my appointment last week. I was making beats in the waiting area until I was called in to get my vitals taken.

Don't get it twisted, I still love my MPC X, I'm just tired of being on lockdown at home, this pandemic kinda got the best of me.

Anyway, I was just wondering if I'm alone on this one...

I got the MK1, but I don’t know. I’ve used it in the bed once and on my couch. Also took it on a deployment. That’s about it.

Yooooooo! I thought I was the Only One! I Love the X. Bigger Tilt Screen, More Q-Links, More Ins/Outs, etc.....But I find myself Turning on the Live 2 more often. I'll Sample somethin off YouTube on my phone and Knock out a Beat real quick.

Versus Turn on the X, Turn on the Mixer, The Computer, KRK's, etc

I don’t have an X but speaking on the portability of the Live, I could never go back to just making music in the studio

I travel a lot for work so about 75% of my beats get made in my car or an airport lol. Have had the live since first release and the battery is still going strong.

Love my OG Live, its pretty much the perfect machine for me but... If I had the money and the space for it at the time, I would've much rather gotten the X, for the bigger screen and MORE buttons and knobs. The Live after 2 years is still #1, but portability? I think I played with it on the couch once since I bought it at the end of 2019. The rest of its time its spent plugged in at my desk being the heart of my setup. I do once in awhile unplug it and let it run down the battery just to keep it working, but other than that, nope. X would've been right at home here just the same and I'd be able to get things done a lot quicker with the X's features. I may eventually get one some day, but I've got a magic MK 1 Live that has had no issues whatsoever, all my crap is working perfect with my audio and midi interface and I wanna keep my setup that way haha.

Yeah I dunno. I had a Live2Retro and used it for a bit on the go, but the thing weighs a bit for a portable instrument. I sold to fund an Isla S2400. Love the Live2, but didn't use it as much as I thought I would compared to my X. I don't care for making beats elsewhere. I'll just bring a laptop and do some music stuff on that when I'm on the go. I also like to catch tags on the go and do stupid shit so for me... its just not ideal. Everyones got a different lifestyle though.
