Hi there, proud new mpc one owner here working in standalone firmware 2.8.1. Has anyone else found that it’s impossible to automate parameters of a key group program if there is more than one key group and edit is set to all key groups? If you go into individual key groups the parameters automate fine, but nothing is recorded if set to all.
So if I want to automate a filter sweep or envelope changes etc on any of the excellent programs like those in the f9 expansion pack....no deal. Is this is true it’s a massive over site as it also make autosampled synths less versatile. So is this a bug or what?

I like my MPC, but there is so much annoying little stuff in its workflow it often infuriates me. AKAI doesn't communicate at all so who knows what they are doing. The only thing you can do is report problems here:

https://www.akaipro.com/support

And hope that someone at AKAI is going to listen. I reported hundreds of stuff that weren't even bugs, just bad design decisions and inconsistencies in the UI. The Force has MIDI macros so It's possible to work around the all key group automations problem that way easily. The MPC line does not have that.

Complaining here on mpc_forums.com is completely useless, report problems directly to AKAI, if you bought a MPC you are a customer of theirs.

I know. I'm just waiting one more year to see how updates go. I don't care about new synthesizers, disk streaming or flashy stuff, there are hundreds of problems, bugs or UI related, that AKAI never fixed. In a year it isn't fixed I'll sell my MPC gear and will stop recommending it on internet forums. Even Native Instrument is more forthcoming and set up a a road map for its Maschine + ... AKAI? crickets...

I will Admit.,...Akai's Shortcomings, make me more Creative. I'm Less Creative when things are too Easy. When I make somethin on my XL... I Appreciate the Progress Akai has made over the Years.

Devil's Advocate...

A lot younger Producers are coming from a DAW like Environment, so i can Sympathize. Long as we can Consistently request things on here, I'm sure someone at Akai will notice!

I'm also no longer recommending the MPC to anyone. I think everyone should try it, and it's incredibly powerful in ways that stretch your brain, but the glaring bugs make it a hard sell for anyone just jumping on board. I have steered people to the Mc707 or Digitakt instead.

They are f_cking up.

I still don't see any Standalone Box that have as many features as the Live 2. Even with Akai Shortcomings! If anyone can't make sum Good Tracks with the Live....Yes....They NEED to gravitate towards a Simpler Groovebox
