hi im a big fan man my name is kevin i just wanted to ask if in the next update can we at least get 16 tracks to record audio at least for the people who bought your flagship product mpc x that comes with xlr inputs i just can imagine pulling up to a friends house and can make a beat and record a full song with harmonies and over dubbs that would be cool i love the mpc x and i think that can really take it over the top thanks guys at akai

it would be nice to have at least 16 audio tracks. Until then, you can still pull up to your friends house and record all the harmonies and overdubs into the MPC then assign the tracks to drum program pads, then trigger the harmonies and overdubs via drum pads. Don't let the 8 track audio cap trick you into thinking that you don't have the power within your MPC to easily pivot around that limitation.
When I was looking into buying my mpc one, I thought, only 8 audio tracks?! And everyone's saying you can make any song you want on this? Then I learned that you can make full blown songs, even songs that would equate to using 32+ audio tracks, just by simply using the drum program and grid as the audio track sequencer. In fact, I still haven't used the Audio Section in standalone yet. I record everything into the mpc real time then edit and assign the tracks to pads, giving me the potential to have as many audio tracks at a time as my MPC's resources and ears can handle

This is not an official Akai support/feedback forum, nobody here works at Akai/InMusic. And even if someone does, they can't speak about future updates.
