Changing a track’s program with the pads

I’m trying to set up my MPC One to run my sampled synths for my shows. I play drums in this band as well so I’d like to be able to reach over to the MPC and tap a pad to call up my next synth patch.

I’m not running any audio or midi tracks, no sequences, just playing keyboards live with a tiny iRig Keys midi controller hooked up to the MPC’s usb. I wanna just reach over…boop on a pad… and the next patch I need is called up.

How do I use the pads for quickly and easily choosing what program is assigned to a track? I could swear this was possible with an mpc1000 or 2000xl…? (Not that a One is the same as those)

you could put the program you need on track 1 of a new sequence, 1 sequence per song.
then you stay in next seq mode and use the pads to gather the right your sequence between songs.
