can you layer sounds on the mpc?

i know u can layer different tracks over one another obviously but can u layer onto one pad or put 2-3 sounds together to make one? feel mejavascript:emoticon(':?:')

yes sirrrrr.... even though this should probably be in "Newbie" section, this is how you do it... shift 6.... hit a pad, go to the bottom left of the screen (Not near my MPC right now, can't give you exacts,) and turn the dial one to the right, should say like "Simultaneous" or something, but then you can plug in the sounds u want and u'll be good.... hope that helps

umm. can you elab when you get near your machine? please this is mad cool that u can do this....so you can put more than one sound on a pad??

i can't get it to play on the same key. i did what lampdog said. i got the manual and tried. ta hell am i doin wrong??? even assigned diff sounds to the same key, pretty sure

what are you trying to trigger thru midi? your module might not be able to play more than one voice at a time

it can but i can't get more than one sound to share a pad.

What ever sound you are triggering on what ever channel you need to change your sound module to multi tim to recieve triggering from the same midi channel. hopefully that will help.

The emax has a cool feature where it will combine two samples into one, either replacing one or creating a new sample.

I mainly use it from drums. Layering 2 kicks or 2 snares, or a snare with a hi hat, to get different sounds from my drums.
