recording longer than sequence length

Hi ya all,

Is there anyone that knows the answer to the following question?

How to set the mpc so that when you are recording a track, it will keep recording (instead of going into overdub) even when you have passed the sequence length? This way you can start recording a solo without knowing beforehand how many bars you will take for your solo. Great when improvising.

I am sure I was once able to do this by turning off a loop symbol somewhere. But for the love of God, I can't find it anywhere anymore. Bless the soul that's kind enough to tell me how to do this or if this function has been lost in some update sometime?

If what you're trying to record is 16 bars or less, you could use Looper to record. You dial how many bars (up to 16) to record, you can also set whether to overdub or not, and whatever sequence that you have looped in your Main will repeat as needed while you record.

loop toggle is in Sequence (top) Panel in Main, right there underneith Start / End section by right side of Sequence panel

There's no way to do it.
Audio tracks and looper work sequence length so you cannot record more then sequence length.
Anything you record on MPC timeline is sequence length.

But you can extend the sequence length by duplicating the original sequence 2, 4 or 8 times or whatever.
So you have a longer sequence length for audio tracks.

Yes - tht's how I do it too

Another option is to set the Track Length individually, by having a very long Sequence Bar setting it to up to 999 Bars. This is long enough for whole shows - with good individual tracks and programs -> 6 Banks by 16 assignable pads = enough time to play around.
