After one month of testing, I can say that I got rid 100% of double triggering on my MPC Live MK1.
I cannot confirm what is the resolving key for it, but I want to share with you what I did.

I have to say that I have the fat pads without corxs for two years ago, but they didn't remove the double triggering at all. I was tired of having random double triggering, so I decided to open the unit and to include the corx.
I have added the corxs perfectly center to each square, and, I think the most important step, I have perfectly align the circles of the plastic (the one with the corxs) with the circuit using the circles that both have.
Image

If you follow the MPC stuff tutorial, you will see that they just set the circuit and they expect that the plastic is well aligned.

(Starting time -> ?t=774)
However, just with the screws this plastic could be not aligned with the circuit by a millimetre. I think this could be the issue.

Now, I'm really happy to use my MPC without strange behaviours 8)
If you try what I did, share it with us. Maybe more people can get benefit of it.

Please tell this to Gabe Miller so he can stop misleading people with his "Don't buy the Original MPC Live in 2022 video"

That is all.

That is all.

MPC users or people who want a MPC should follow this forum rather than youtubers.

Maybe Gabe Miller is generalizing from one case, but if he is saying that some MPCs can have defective pads then he is not wrong. In fact every youtuber should be saying that for all of them. It just seems that quality control for all the current gen MPC units is just really bad (obviously we hear more about the more popular models).

I am a former MPC One owner who went through two units, both with defective pads. I still check the forum every now and then and never fail to find a recent thread about this. In fact it seems to me that the original MPC Live might be more reliable than One and Live II. That is just my impression from what I read but it would make sense since some time has passed between them. And while there is nothing extraordinary about a 5 year old piece of gear having a problem, there is certainly something wrong when there are regular reports for the same issue on new units. AKAI customer support not replying about this doesn't exactly help paint a pretty picture either.

Especially this youtuber, young hungry kids willing to sell whatever they're told to.
But guys like Tubedigga make up for all the bad ones.

Yeah - basically you are right.
But, even though I am not fond of all those people trying to be double wise, I am happy about some of them.
Who ever owned a Korg M3 knows that a high amount of touch displays have been send out faulty - faulty hardware this is. Without a dedicated and detailed explaination of how to replace the touch foil, I would have just axed it...
For about 10 years I have a flauless working M3 - even though it was tears and sweat to replace it.
My judgment: there are a lot of good people out there to help -this includes all people here - including Tubedigga :-)

Counterpoint: I'm on my 3rd current-gen MPC (first the Touch, then the original Live, and now the Live II) as well as a Force, and I've had no issues like that whatsoever. In fact, at least around here and over at the Gearslutz thread, the relative number of people who seem to have QA issues is pretty low. That said, people with issues tend to be the ones with the loudest voice, so it's not surprising that users who have had pad triggering problems (and other hardware issues) may seem like it's "a lot".

That said, great that the OP got their issue fixed!

the same here - i replaced the pad sensors and the pads on my MPC4000 and all is swell now - for my playing style, i'd think i will install the corx too next time i open it up because it gives you even more sensitivity / responsiveness - as many of my drum programs feature 4 zones programed for velocity

honestly, also thought about replacing it and maybe I do, but I definitely recognize, after I really hammered the pads a while (~one week, i was very mad because of the double triggering constantly interfering in recording of a live song  ) , it is nearly gone. I think they are way to sensible at all at the beginning. Think about it, it is also for finger drummers who use a lot more power than like when you start newly and just sensibly use the pads for on off / pad mute. I will hammer a bit more and look how it works out at the end.

….way too sensitive…?

Pads could be sensible too, you may have a point there.
Pads know what you want, so they give it to you.
