hello when I do my projects I usually create my tracks, sequence them and then mix the sound, in particular by making submixes. the problem is that when I assign a program or a pad to a submix, it loses these effects?

isn't there a possibility that this is not the case?

for example if I applied a delay on a track, that this delay remains when I put it in a submix?

Audio Tracks you are talking about, as there is no way to add fx to a MIDI/Plugin Track.

No problem here with my MPCX:
- add individual dry sample to Audio 1 and 2
- enter Channel Mixer
- send Audio 1 and 2 to Sub 1
- add an effect to each Audio Track
- switch in the Channel Mixer to Submixes
- add a e.g. Air Compressor

No issue - did I understand you right?

Just for the record: using latest update and did it on hardware only (standalone).

I couldn't understand your problem...

If both a program and its pad are set to submix 1, the pad's sound bypasses the program FX.

got it!!
actually when you pass a program in a sub, it does not remove the effects. on the other hand, when you go to the "PAD MIXER" and assign certain pads (which had an effect on the program to which it was attached) to a sub, the sub takes the place of the program and therefore, the effects that were on it disappear

So much of this could be cleared up if Akai would just release a block diagram of signal flow in the MPC....

I agree about a signal flow diagram. Makes me want to call them up and just request it at this point.

Another odd signal flow routing is the audio inputs and the sampling input. Apparently they are both different, but also the same, but also routed pre-fx. I was bored and had to attempt at drawing the block diagram. It's probably wrong, but I'm shirking off my job at the moment. EDIT: I forgot that pads also have their own 4 insert FX, and prob other things. The insert FX are the MPC are a bit much, and anyone that put FX on all the layers would prob choke the thing anyways.
