If I understood right, it's not very well implemented on Force.
I think putting more Ram is better and also safer for the disk.

Indeed , disk streaming is not like PCs on 2000 era , if they implement it right , it will work for everything not just audio tracks (it can be forced to drums and keygroups , haven't tried it) and theoretically you could load 10Giga of samples
The correct way is to buffer the start/end of the sample ,plus loop point and then the chunk of file data needed while playing , I assume that either Akai lucks the technical knowledge or the SoC is giving them trouble (high cpu while accessing disk , or slow random access read or both)

I’m just **** wit you MPK Ray. You seem excited for it and if it helps you make dope music and you enjoy it, that’s all that matters

I always thought a workstation mpc would be an interesting concept so the keys is intriguing. I just don’t see Akai doing the things needed to really flesh out a concept like that and make the most of it.

Akais business model is more about putting a half baked idea out and letting it evolve over the years with users feedback. So maybe the keys will evolve into something truly unique but I don’t see it being that out the gate.

The Mpc line up is getting bloated with features like clip launching and the Force seems marketed towards those type of people so they didnt have to bloat up the new Mpc line with features like that. I could go on.... But honestly... The keyboard looks ok. I will not buy it, but whoever is a keyboardist primarily will.

Still wish they would just focus on the sample side of things....
I liked the being able to Automate Slices feature.

The AX73 is a surprisingly good analog synthesizer that is still considered to be widely underrated and deserving of some recognition. It's a six voice analog synthesizer with an almost identical architecture to Akai's AX60 keyboard. It also came in a rack-mount form as the VX90. It has one oscillator (VCO) per voice and allows for 3 playing modes: Poly mode uses one VCO per voice for six voice polyphonic pads, chords and strings. Dual-VCO mode stacks 2 VCOs per voice for a thicker three-voice sound. Unison mode stacks all six VCOs onto one monophonic voice for a screamin' lead!

Audio clip launching isn't bloating the MPC, it's the only way to have an audio loop play forever while being triggered live without resorting to a stupid sustain pedal hack. It's a very useful and welcomed featured many samplers just don't do and should. Very useful for dJs or those who want to use their MPC like a SP404 without having to buy yet another device, which is my case. I wouldn't have bought a MPC otherwise.

There is actually zero bloat on the MPC, if the MPC has problems, it's more about UI organization than anything else, nothing AKAI cannot fix.

UI can definitely be improved yea, coming from JJOS to the Live II the OS made very little sense to me. But AKAI is making progress, customizable menu as well as the side "panel" you can sweep in and out for quick access is a nice step forward.

Even though I don't really need it, I'm not going to buy it and not use it in my studio. There was a time when Dr. Dre used 4 MPC-3000s daisy-chained to each other via MIDI. Besides I own a ASR X Pro Turbo and a ASR X Turbo and I use both in my production often alongside my ASR-10, so why not have three MPCs? And that new MPC will pay for itself in no time, so I'm not stressing the funds...

People had multiple samplers mostly because of the ridiculously small sample time (among other things) of these machines back then. But anyone can do whatever they want at the end of the day, even if that means daisy-chaining 4 MPC Live / X / Key 61. If some people feel like it's the way to go, why not.

Looking at the box and how well organized the MPC Key61 is, I expect the Key 61 to sell like hotcakes over the years because of the assumed price. This Keyboard doesn't need 16 Q-link encoders, that's all in people's head. It doesn't need a faster CPU, or more memory, it will be able to do all the job it was designed to do, and this keybaord wasn't created to compete with a Fantom, Montage, etc. This keyboard was created to be the ultimate sampling keyboard and will reign as the king of sampling in the sampling synthesizer market for decades. This sampling keyboard is revolutionary for Akai as a company, and the sampling keyboard industry, sampling has never been done easy in this way, it will be revolutionary for beat makers and sampling junkies looking to create their own unique and original sounds and loops using a ribbon controller controlled sampling keyboard. It's the greatest Keyboard sampler in 30 years, that's not a small title to ignore for sampling keyboard buyers. This keyboard sampler is made for people wanting a sampling keyboard, for people wanting something they can use keys to create sounds and loops and songs with, without having to use some other midi controller. And also for people who has neither a sampling keyboard or an MPC to create inspiration with. It's made for people wanting to add a new MPC to their arsenal, or people wanting to upgrade from a Live. I think the market for this keyboard will be for those that want the latest and greatest song creation tool to hit the market, and this is it, the new king of the sampling keyboard block, a keyboard that will rule for the next one or two decades unless Akai make a MKII. If Air keeps on making new VSTi for this, and if Akai allow third parties to make synth VST's for this, this keyboard is gonna be sick.
