New to MPC

New to MPC

Hello all.
Iv always wanted to get into the MPC workflow from a hardware background and have the chance to buy a used MPC x at a very very good price.
Iv looked at other groove boxs and really want only to produce Edm bounce minimal and electro Dutch etc.
Before I go ahead are these any good for that type of producing and as iv never sampled I really don't know where to start or would a mc707 or the like be better?
Any advice would be really welcomed

Can't go wrong with the X. Probably the most powerful dawless hardware out there today.

It can allow you to do whatever you make it do. It is very flexible. I disagree with it being the most powerful dawless box out right now though. That title belongs to the Force. The X comes in a tight second, although it has a way better physical form factor. The X is way more than just a glorified sampler. There is amazing things you can do with midi and fx and automation. Once my mega progression expansion is released it will be a piece of cake to make music in any genre in 10 mins or less. It's that great. Pad Performance/Progression mode on the Mpc is one the best chord/melodic features of any groove box, keyboard workstation/ theory hardware or software ever created to this date. You chose a mighty fine time to join the MPC Gang, Welcome!!!!! Things are going to get interesting really soon.

Appreciate your enthused reply to my requirements at least the choice is right
As for the sampler does it have the faculty to sperare vocals from bass synths etc like a stem extraction

The MPC X/Live/One does not have any stem extraction.

You can old school do it to some extent with filtering and other tricks... but you're better off doing that on the computer.

For "Stem extraction" just use iZotope RX Rebalance, the MPC software doesn't have this feature.

The best combo is an MPC (One or Live) with the MC-707. I have an MPC Live and an MC-101 and they compliment each other perfectly. MC-101/707 have the dope Zen-Core sound engine and TONS of high quality usable sounds, you can even auto-sample them if you like! The advantages of the MPC are the sequencer and sampler, the MC series has a terrible sequencer, you can't even use triplet and 16th note subdivisions on the same track. Also, MC-707 is limited to only 8 tracks (MC-101 only has 4), the MPC can have 8 Plugins, plus as many Keygroups as your RAM/CPU can handle.

I've just looked at the price of this as I have some live recordings that were a little too hot and I have been informed this software will sort it. Wow!
I get its aimed at pros and does specific jobs very well, but I don't think I could justify the price just for stems :lol:

This is OT so can create a new thread if required:
Are you using the 707 for synths and mpc for drums?
Can you perform a full live set of various tracks with both? If so, how?
