Support and discussion for all of Akai’s modern standalone MPCs including the MPC X / X SE, MPC Live 1, 2 & 3, MPC One / One+, MPC Key 37/61.

4gb Ram and new faster CPU!!!!!
It was clear, isn't it?
Current MPC cannot run all those plugins without hiccups.
And some better Velvet and Minigrand renderings for this new key61.

So next generation Mpc with more Ram and a faster CPU is coming soon, starting from a new X and then a new Live.
Maybe before the end of the year.

Right move from Akai.
Here we go.

I think you guys are missing the point.. those isn't a new motherboard for a new generation, it is a mpc synthesizer, meaning it can have much more plug ins to use.. that's why it needs more power.. all the other mpc can only use 8 at a time on a project, that's why they're is a activate plug in button on the new o.s. you buy what you want, but can only activate 8 at a time per project unless you got this beast.. but it didn't render the other obsolete. Love is still the best way portability, x is the best at being a hub etc.. some might want a more powerful plug in experience.. some might want more then one midi out and more then two inputs...
X is still the flagship.. mpc is a sampler..

Yes that's for now.
But when new Mpc with new Soc will come out, current ones will be obsolete.
X hasn't been changed since how many years? 5?
It's just normal now they will upgrade all the line.
2gb Ram is gone.
Arm chip is improving year by year.
If Akai wants to keep adding stuff with upgrades, current Soc reached the limit.
And I might say that they made miracles to stuff all we have into 2gb Ram and this Cpu.
We cannot ask more.
So next step is an upgrade of all the line.
And if they make it right, Mpc will really crush competition as a daw replacer, as they are marketed.

Ps for you is a sampler (and also mostly for me). For Akai is a daw replacement, as they write on the box.

Yes I agree with that, thru will use the better chip for a new flagship, but I think they will keep filling out the line, $2000+ mpc won't sell that well, not with just more plug ins.. it does say this can only use eight at a time too.. so who knows?
I think they will focus on other stuff, like a portable mpc keys or maybe something we haven't thought of yet, like a machine with a mpc and force both inside so you choose your workflow or who knows? But I don't see just a mk2 of everything, that would kill all sales of current stuff and who is gonna buy the same thing with just a more powerful processor? Akai just doesn't do new new mpc generation like that.. the last was the Renaissance and that was how long ago? Plus another clue is how much this looks like the others and is called a synthesizer not a sampler like the others..

What's all this negative talk STILL? Sore losers!

This is the NEW motherboard I posted weeks ago to the MPC Forum troll and I was 100% correct.

Double the MPC X!

Ya'll still breathin?

  :smoker:

"Onboard Wi-Fi/Bluetooth"

But some goofy said there is only hardwired internet because of the NETWORK port in the rear.
:fku:

Just shaddaaaauuupp and wait for me to post pictures of me and my new WORKSTATION keyboard!

Yep you were right.
The problem is that you show yourself as a troll with a strange slang language and pictoresque style so they don't believe you.
But you were 100% right.

It's not just the same thing with more powerful processor.
A more powerful processor and more Ram will allow to add stuff that now it's not possible.
And Air has a lot of stuff to port to Mpc.
As someone said before, for example, all Air computer plugins like Loom vacuum etc require 4gb of Ram on computers.
And then they can also put more complex fx, chains of fx and so on.
It totally makes sense that Mpc is becoming an Air product sonehow.
And Air has a lot of experience and products for computers since 20 years.
I think that Air made the best they can do with current Soc.
Let's see what they can do with double power Mpc.

Yes but they chose that soc in the first place, thru could have stayed with 4gb in the first place just as easy.. itt is just my opinion, butt I think they were and are trying to diversify the mpc from the mpc synthesizer.. just as the force is different from mpc. But we will see in the future.. maybe it was not possible to get this type of power to run on batteries, maybe that is why they chose the 2gb ram.

Well what you say makes sense.
It also could be as you say.
A workstation, a sampler, a force.
It could also be they just used all 2gb socs and now they don't have anymore.
It could be that it was planned that they would start using 4gb socs when 2gb stock was finished.
Anyway working with 2gb in 2022 is quite a no sense.
Let's see anyway.
You have a good point.

Akai said NOTHING about a faster CPU, only that ad that was posted showing off some SOC that is NOT the SOC in the MPC says its a 2x faster CPU.. Do you see HDMI on the back of the MPC Keys? Do you see USB-C?? No, that is NOT the SOC that's in the MPK wishful thinking.

The RockChip board thats in the Live/X/One came in two flavors, one with 2GB of RAM, one with 4GB of RAM. Guess which one Akai is using for the MPC KEY 61. Its the same **** MPC as the rest, whoopee its got some extra RAM. The ports on the back of the keyboard dont even lineup with the board in that picture.

Everyone seems so sure here.
Let's see.
It might be the famous 4gb version of the original Soc.
Anyway 4gb Ram is confirmed.
And also the new plugins that might not work on current Mpc 2gb soc.
Let's start from that.
It's not the same as an Mpc with attached keyboard.

Who knows about what beta testers use.
They keep the secret, isn't it?
The board on Live/X/One is not 4gb, is 2gb.
Same cpu though.
I think it's quite clear that they put 4gb to use something we cannot use on Mpc.
Possibly the new fabric and fabric xl plugins?

We use our own mpcs of course!

So did you test those new plugins on 2gb board?

TBH, currently the pads are my main concern about buying any new MPC hardware, my previous two MPC purchases have been a downgrade in terms of pad sensitivity.

You mean like this
