Can't wait for MPCs answer to this.

Definitely on topic. OPx4 is shown on the MPC Key 61 that is also rumored to be released on the 23rd of June. Maybe this OPx4 will show the algorithms on screen?

Either way, I'm looking forward to saving all of my plugin presets as favorites tomorrow!

Counterpoint: plugins in standalone were planned from the very start for this new gen-MPC/Force platform, and I'd argue absolutely required to maintain a competitive, feature-rich, modern music production device.

That is not a counterpoint but just a random claim to the contrary. My argument is backed by the long history of the platform as a sampling platform and by the way these plugins had but a barebones implementation after they were tacked onto the existing program/keygroup sturcture and were just there to tick a few boxes that the Maschine and esp. the Electron grooveboxes already ticked (internal synth engines). The ones we got with the last update were definitely in anticipation of the MPC Keys.

But my general point is not that the plugins are lame, or bad, or uncool, or anything, but that they get file management features that the file browser (which was there from day one) still hasn’t gotten (and these features were promised for the initial 2.0 update which, one could argue, technically received it in the MPC software). And I think that is really lame of Akai.

I looked at the calendar, it’s the 23rd of June, around noon in Berlin, I logged into my Akai account, after some hassles it finally worked, and there’s no 2.11 firmware download.

Akai no pro, bro.

I mean, either you set a fixed release date, like you did, post it everywhere and then you keep your promise at all costs. Because you are not a joke. Or at least, you apologize, when you find you can’t meet your schedule. Because shit happens around release time and everyone knows it.

Or, like almost everyone else does, you announce it like “to be released around… somewhere in… expected in..”

I think a proper title for the thread would be “Akai intends to finish 2.11 firmware in late June”.

It's still 23rd for another 12 1/2 hours here!

Great first post lol. Probably waiting til it's reached 23rd everywhere in the world, which would mean waiting another hour and 11 minutes.

Mac desktop software is not detecting the update.
Looks like the manual download method for now.
