Question about the standalone plugins...

So I've installed 2.11, and it seems the free synths have had an update too (one of the readme files stated it needs 2.11). With each synth there is the synth folder and a 'generic' folder with some preference files or something like that.

Are the 'generic' files universal? Like one set of them does ALL the plugins? So I would just need to put that once? I'm confused as the old 'generic' folder has just one set, and they're not labelled specifically for each plugin. Maybe I'm just overthinking!

Just replace whatever you download, so if there's a new Generic folder, just copy that over the old one.

Ah cool that's what I did, but 4 times as the generic folder is included with each synth. Thanks for clarifying.

Yeah, it's ridiculous, having to download each one individually, extract, copy paste/merge, whatever, someone must have thought this would make it easier and less confusing than downloading a single 'Synths' folder.

BTW, we did not beta test this bit, first time I've seen it!

You can download them from the MPC if it’s connected to the internet. Much easier.

Are you talking about mellotron, hype, hodyssey and solina???

Yes just spotted that, it wasn't showing for me as I already had all the content downloaded from beta testing days.

Can someone post a "plugins updating for dummies" version? My live II had all the basic stuff - Hype, Solina, Mellotron, etc, - now that I've updated to 2.11 what exactly do I do to update these plugins? Do I even need to - do they add new patches and such?

I could not get that to work. It looks like you can download them if you don't have them already, but if they're already installed (older versions) it does nothing.
