There's definitely a noticeable difference between the HYPE Pianos and EPs vs the new plugins. It's a pretty impressive feat of engineering that inMusic was able to bring such high quality sounds to the standalone hardware.

Obviously Fabric XL and OPx4 are the most impressive, but I was definitely inspired by the others, especially the studio strings, very interesting take on having options for sections, players, and articulation.

THIS.

I’m not able to install the trial version of the new plugins. From my MPC One, connected to Ethernet i can login but i have a message “Could not activate the license from the server” when I click on “Start Trial”

I just bought the pack against my better financial judgement... You can use the discount code MPCSAVE10 to make it sting a little bit less.

Just a reminder that the website link isn't a download link. It is telling you to activate the trials through your hardware preferences page and the downloads will happen straight from your hardware..

That’s exactly what I did several times.
From my MPC One connected to internet with an Ethernet cable -> connection to internet Ok -> Login with the phone Ok my profile appears in the MPC -> when I click on TRIAL I still have the error message

that wasn't for you. that was for fools like me who keep clicking the download demo button on the website and not reading the actual instructions. Is your MPC hardware serial registered to your account maybe? This activation thing is new so we are walking into the wild unknown as far as bugs and errors

Alright anyone saying the plugins don't sound amazing is out of their ever loving mind. On top of the overwhelming amount of effects, you get tons of modulation possibilities. If you don't luv the presets , you have no excuse not to make your own and make them shine. My personal favorite though.. the stage ep with amp cabs and flavor...

LOFi sexy Goodness...OH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

Surprised at the pricing TBH, a lot more than I was expecting. I suspect there will be black friday deals a plenty though.

Have been beta testing all these for a few months now, all seem to work fine in the current hardware. And despite the claim that the MPC Software versions require minimum Macos 10.15 I can confirm they work fine in Mojave 10.14.6.

Oh, and 'The MPC Instrument Collection' - they could have thought of an original name there guys, I've had the 'MPC Instrument collection' on my site for several years now. Looks like I'm going to have to change the name to avoid confusion!

Thanks for the confirmation on Mojave, sorry for not reading. I'm currently running version 10.14.6. Thankfully I don't have to change OS.

hello what bothers me is not necessarily the price, what bothers me is that we are required to eight instrument plugins per project .... not done I have a little trouble understanding that akai is developing the instrument plugins without thinking about changing this restriction? unless there is something i don't understand in which case please help me and maybe i will buy the bundle

Because the MPC already has a limited enough CPU, the fact they've managed to squeeze what they have out of it is pretty amazing, if only it worked right.

The presets were definitely very dynamic, responsive, and expressive. There's definitely a noticeable difference between the HYPE Pianos and EPs vs the new plugins. It's a pretty impressive feat of engineering that inMusic was able to bring such high quality sounds to the standalone hardware.

And just to reiterate, I love the way the new Instruments sound, I can't stop thinking about that Steinway.....

I agree with this. Last night I ended up pulling the trigger on the collection because the more I explored the more realized it’s exactly what my MPC needed for me to get on a plane and make any sound I want anywhere in the world.

I get the feeling that people might be judging the sound quality of these new plugs based on the sounds of the free ones we already have for MPC like hype or tube synth. These new plugins are in a whole different class- they are not cheap sounding or limited by any stretch I can imagine. If you haven’t downloaded and used and explored the plugs because you think they are overpriced, think again- these are the real deal for a standalone, I’ve never gotten an expansion like fabric for a standalone that’s essentially an entire synthesizer all it’s own with 5K patches. Closest standalone plugs were JD800 by Roland or some UAD stuff I have (even MORE expensive). When I thought about the value compared to those and the joy I was having making my beat last night it really became a no brainer for me.

Do yourselves a service and try them out on your MPC with the 10 day trial before assuming they sound like the older freebie stuff, these are def premium plugs for standalone.

I've tried them. They sound ok. Cool. Not gonna pay the same as my One to get them. Will be waiting for the sweet sale price, when y'all instabuyers gonna be regretting of plunging that hi into Akai's money grabbery. Thank you for your concern.

I totally agree, way too high for the simple sounds you get.
Does anyone remember the fact that the MPC was/is designed as a Sampler??

I will be sticking to my sample collection, as its well over 50GB worth.
Also so far I haven't even used the current plug-ins as they are SOOO CPU intensive and defeat the object.
I also find it much more satisfying to use the mpc in controller mode, then simply sample My Fav current plug-in synths like SERUM (250 buck worth of plug-in) And get use of these samples in the MPC in Standalone mode.

For me, the price of MY MPC ONE RETRO (690 buck's) IS too close the plugin's that are being offered at can only be described as getting more money from current MPC owners while trying to make the KEY 61 look like good value, as all the plug-ins are free for it.

Sorry if I missed this info in the thread, tried to find an answer but didn't so far:

--> Can you activate those plugins for more than one device after purchase?

As I'm using a Live at home and a Live 2 on the road, these plugins only would make sense for me if I could activate them in both of the machines, so I can seemlessly switch between those two. At this price tag I certainly wouldn't (and cannot) pay twice. Hence, either it will work on both of the machines after paying once or I simply wouldn't buy.

Any chance anyone has the answer?

Thank you!

Yes, you can use the paid plugin on both devices without paying 2 licenses.
