LOL still going at it.. I just ran into the mono keygroup pops too. If you leave the amp envelope at its default settings, they are really faint like little digital ticks, but turn up the release to 20 and you'll start hearing the little snaps and then open it up to about 90 and you'll hear the full on crackle and pop.

Set it to custom, save as your default template and see if it reverts back to defaulting to off when you start a new project

When I saw CUSTOM I figured lemme make a template where it's always off right from jump. First knee jerk reaction was, "wtf is this no OFF bs about.

Something I have found OS 2.11 MPC One Retro

If I load and work on a project I have no issues then go to the menu and select new project from the main menu options it locks the machine up,screen goes blank and machine unresponsive, left it for a few minutes in the hope it would sort itself but ended up having to unplug the power cable and power cycle, when it rebooted came up with the error message recovered from an internal error

Anyone else had this yet?

I'm definitely getting it, in MPC Live, MPC One and MPC Software, in keygroups and drum programs. I have reported it.

So, ATM new project pad perform setting is chromatic, but IMO it should be CUSTOM. I don't remember seeing this in beta, but perhaps it was because I was always testing with existing projects (last pad perform setting is saved with the project). Or something else at play, can't find a preference setting for this though.

I am starting to wonder if the clicks/pops are hardware specific to certain models, I'm on the OG Live for reference. Seems the others with the issue are perhaps on the OG Live and One? No idea if that's the case of course, but I'd assume more people would complain about it since it's, to me at least, machine breaking.

I also am wondering if it's somehow related to the pad mapping issue, because if it's attempting to trigger multiple pads in mono, it would probably do something like this. Similarly to how if you play a chord in Bassline, it doesn't know what to do since it's a mono synth.

Another thing is, what are people using to monitor? Because if people are just using that Live 2 speaker for example I highly doubt you'd even hear it. For example it seems a bit less aggressive/loud in my Neumann 310 monitors, yet in my Beyer Cans (DT1770 Pro) it's way beyond loud and way more than just noticeable.

I emailed Akai about it anyhow, and have reverted to 2.10 for now (after checking it was still there in 2.11.2), hopefully it gets fixed as I need to work on stuff and can't do it with 2.11 sadly. New features DO look cool though.

Would imagine you'd be able to hear it, maybe check on some headphones if you have any? I'm currently just monitoring the mpc directly, no desk or anything in the middle, although there's no way that would make any difference.

Which leaves the question, which model are you on?
By kiddles Sat Jun 25, 2022 11:45 pm
Oh you said Mk1, I'm blind lol, sorry. Hmmmm very strange then.

The only other thing I can think is that I moved 3 Akai expansions out of the internal section, I really don't see how THAT could be causing it though?

How many times do we tell people don’t mess with the structure of the internal card. It’s a set system structure that needs to stay in place, “untouched”.

Use other media.

The only thing I moved was optional expansions, which had to be added as additional content in the first place. I don't see how that could affect anything (especially sample playback specifically relating to mono mode/choke groups)... Surely not?

Hello, Im new here. I updated to 2.11.1 but its very buggy, Is there a way to revert back to 2.10.1?

question: mpc Tutor mentioned the keygroup bug appears on the software mpc too, i've very few things installed on the computer, but i tested it with some essential 808 programs , all mono, still no bug (2.11, now updating to 2.11.2). have you checked if it does it on the essential 808 keygroups too? this way we can check if it is affecting all users or not, weird as it seems!

p.s. tested on drum programs as well, one of the factory chilled trap drum pgm, turned it to mono. no clicks.

kiddles wrote:Cool cool, thanks! I just wasn't sure since there's extra content/synth stuff too with this one and don't want to brick it. I'm still very new to the new line of MPCs. The last one I used before the live is the 2k haha.

I messaged Akai about the bug too. Unless I'm missing something though, keygroups are totally unusable in mono mode now.

Could anyone give it a try to replicate it please?

-Load a sound to a keygroup (Sine wave would probably make it most obvious)
-Set to mono
-Play sound on pads = no clipping
-Play sequence of the sounds = random yet constant clipping

ok, i just did that:
loaded up opx4, init preset, raised its main volume, recorded a C note in sequencer, bounced to sample, assigned to a drum program, converted that pad to keygroup, switched the keygroup to polyphony = MONO, recorded a sequence, everything seemed fine. then i switched from one shot to note on, the envelope is now an adsr, it does act strange, it seems it's not doing its job. but even stranger, switching to POLY gave me clicks and pops! more than mono mode! i'm going nuts?
so: you said it's worse in mono, i find it is worst in poly, you say its worse in one-shot, i find its worse in note on.... fkin hell...they do messed it up!
