Yeah the strangest thing I found was that it wasn't consistent, it's different every time it loops. Wasn't changeable by ad or adsr settings either, because the clip actually occurs after the initial transient from the next triggered sample. Which lead me to wondering if somethings happening with pad perform, which is another issue being mentioned on here.

Out of interest, did anyone else with this issue move any content from the internal drive at any point pre update? Would like to figure out if this is a possibility for it or not then, since it's mentioned above. Specifically, I moved the following 3:

The Vault 2.0
MPC 2.0 Clip Launch Pack
Essential Instruments 2 (I think)

I just didn't want those images in the expansions tab really... and since they're add on content/samples figured that's fine.

It's family day so I'm not going to be doing anything other than to say that I just quickly tried a few things in the MPC Software regrading pad perform and it seems it remembers your last pad bank between new projects, which is why we're all seeing a different 'default' pad bank on a new project. Beyond that, sometimes it's starting up in chromatic, but just now it started up (from a fresh boot, new project) in 'notes' although the pads were clearly still in the chromatic layout. Flakey.

Guess that eliminates that then? I'm out of ideas, and I'm still too new to the Live and modern MPC environment to have much input on why it may be happening tbh, still learning the machine. I can only ask why, and confirm that for me it happens on 2.11.1 & 2.11.2 and does not happen when reverting back to 2.10.1

I'm pretty sure that pad perform thing has followed me back to 2.10 by the way hahaha

Couple of things I’ve noticed in the last few days…

Purging RAM isn’t always consistent and doesn’t refresh correctly. I noticed it, then tried clearing ALL the ram, but it still showed 12%, then I add/delete some effects plugins and the ram% fluctuated so I assumed it’s reading the plug-in load as well. Today, I boot up the mpc and it’s showing 2% in the same project.

Sounds browser has no previews for sample based content, very annoying when you realise you now have to delete a bunch of loaded keygroups and purge ram every time you select some sounds. I’m sure they will tweak this though, but for now the old browser is better.

16 levels sometimes ‘sticks’ when you page away from it. ie. I use 16 levels filter mode, then go back to the main page but sometimes the pads are still playing the 16 levels mode., despite showing pad perform visually. I couldn’t find any trigger for this, it just seems to happen sometimes but not all the time.

Peace All…

I’m running 2.11.2 and, while I love the enhanced workflow, I have been noticing something that is really, really annoying me and kind of making things more frustrating, since updating.

Has anyone noticed, since updating, that when you sample in a sound, name it and then assign it to a pad, it doesn’t save to the pad? I sample everything from vinyl and this is getting particularly frustrating because I’m in the middle of a drum library build and had to scroll through 50+ sounds to ensure that they were being loaded to pads.

Honestly, all of the workflow improvements have been kind of neutralized now that this issue has cropped up. I was hoping that the quick turnaround to 2.11.2 would correct this, but, it hasn’t. Has anyone else mentioned or noticed this?

If I load and work on a project I have no issues then go to the menu and select new project from the main menu options it locks the machine up,screen goes blank and machine unresponsive, left it for a few minutes in the hope it would sort itself but ended up having to unplug the power cable and power cycle, when it rebooted came up with the error message recovered from an internal error

Anyone else had this yet?

The same here, when I switch to sample editing akai just reboot, never had that before. So 2.11 is buggy asf

The PlayStart button no longer works the same. I love to do the Neptune style repeated intros live. Now playstart stops first then and another press to start ‍♂️

I love the new quick keygroup feature but it should automatically detect the sample key and map it correctly, they did it lazy. You have to tune the sample in the keygroup after the fact or it Will be out of key. They already know the sample key, why not script this to make it perfect.

To everyone complaining about pad perform . If you set it to custom, then press edit, there are 3 presets, one of which is the equivalent of the old off.

I’m also getting faint pops on a recorded sample in a mono keygroup, but not in a loaded sample.

I also read somewhere that a newly created looper sample or normal sample will not get sent to a chosen pad. Whilst this is true on the first default program, it works ok on a newly created program.

Looks like there will be a 2.11.3, 2.11.4 & 2.11.5 before the summer is over lol..

Not impressed at all with this update they were better off just fixing the know bugs for one live and X.. and gave all the features to key61.. then slowly deliver to the other devices.. really not happy now with extra bugs .....

I like many things in the updates, not going to bash them. Best thing so far is swipe left for custom menus. Love searching for plugins etc..

The blame should be all the YouTube beta testers that don’t really use the thing for music, only clicks..

Nope. Setting it to custom still turns on all the pad LED's. It just sets it to whatever 'Pad Color' scheme is selected's max velocity color. Example, I have mine set to the 'Classic MPC' velocity settings. Goes from green to yellow to orange to red or whatever depending on how hard you hit them. Turning on "Custom" lights up all the pads red (max velocity) and they turn green when you hit them. The Pad Color settings are completely ignored, and on top of that it still does the thing where it highlights every octave of the note you're playing. Can get really confusing as it looks like you might have the transpose turned on, and some of us like the feedback we get from the velocity settings. If this is how its supposed to work now, that's cool but they should mention that hah. And it makes no sense why key groups still have a pad color and mapping settings in the pencil menu if they're only going to follow the Pad Perform settings now.
