Just finally tried the new plugins.
Stage pianos are quite good, not top notch but very useable and a lot of detail.
EP are just not good.
Strings are ok but nothing special.
Organ is not that bad.
Honestly, I autosampled EP and strings and organs from an MC707 and they sound much better.
I think piano is the only one worth when prices will get down.
For the rest, we are still not there.
Just a simple mc707 which is not a workstation has better sounds.
Fantom is years ahead.
Stage pianos are quite good, not top notch but very useable and a lot of detail.

Stage electric takes work to make it sound good.. but it is very accurate. The flip side is if you work the parameters enough you can get it to sound almost mesmerizing. I almost cried how good itt sounded today.. but you can get some dirty little quacky smoky Rhodes much easier with velvet ep, it actually probably will record on a song much better and fit. Electric is a synthesized Rhodes and provides a whole other tonality too, it is great to have so many choices.
Anyway mc707 is the exact same as fantom engine, they are the same sounds engine and thru are good too, just different.. I wouldn't say one is better then the other, Akai sounds more realistic to me atleast, Roland more emotional and dynamic.

Roland engine is light years ahead compared to those new Air plugins.
Stage EP doesn't sound good at all, if you are used to play real Rhodes.
The only good one is stage piano but Roland supernatural is much better.
Let's be honest.
Not bad for a 2gb Soc, but in comparison to today standard, just toys.

I have had a mc707. It is good but not crazy better. I guess Peele just like different things but no way these don't sound great too. Especially the best one sounds really good, neither are anything like playing a real Rhodes though I agree there. Roland doesn't sound very real either because they aren't.

Velvet on ProTools sounds as an EP should sound.
Stage EP sounds unrealistic and lame.
It's not worth 149$.
It's the best we can get on Mpc though.
But for that price I just skip it and use my autosampled Roland EP.

I find it cheeky to ask so much for the plugins. They are free for the MPC Key61. I paid 2300 euros for my MPC x and didn't have such plugins with me. Akai should at least have released the plugins for MPC X owners since it is one of the most expensive devices... I got my MPC X 3 years ago and it was even more expensive than the MPC key 61.... So Akai should really do something about the pricing, I'm really angry….

I said this before, but here we go again.
The X is a 2000 to 2100 $€ Unit, the build quality, all the displays, knobs, bigger tiltable screen, better io etc...
The keys is an One with a keyboard, more memory and an strip. I would say it is a 1200 unit. Then add 700 for the plugins and voila! you got the 1900.
It does not come even near of the Xs level.
But you can get angry because you have FOMO and want to be on the boat because you boght the best of the best, and because some plugins you are not happy right now.
Come on, man!

Well I'm sorry you feel that way . Me and lots and lots of professional musicians have been blown away by how they sound and many are trading their Roland for this right now.. so I guess opinions are only that.. lots of hot records right now are using that same piano you call lame.
Btw if you are just autosampling a sound from your Roland then they're is no way it will sound as good as there will be no dynamic and harmonic and dynamic changes up and down the keyboard, that is what gives a Rhodes life and the difference you pay for with synthesis. No two notes should ever sound the same and maybe it is your setup why it sounded bad? I can tell you if you like velvet then this should sound good to you as this is very close but actually improved from that.
