MPC Live 2 with what type of pc?

I just bought a MPC Live 2,

And I want to buy a desktop, "not a laptop".

Can any desktop work with a MPC Live 2?

I was interested in the
GEEKOM MINI IT8 TECH

Any advice?

I prefer the smallest pc, under 900, built with capacity for music making?

Buy a used Intel Mac mini.

I suggest any PC. You may have some problems with some MAC drivers? Just my opinion

Nah drivers working perfectly fine here on an up to date Intel Mac Mini.. Occasionally we have to wait a bit, like when the Network MIDI app was broke for most of Monterey, but they updated it awhile back finally and everything is smooth as should be here. As long as you dont jump and upgrade every time Apple releases a new OS you should be fine. Even then it usually only takes a couple months and everyone is caught up with the new OS.. No comment on the M1 Mac's though. Im a looooong time Mac user and I have to deal with those every day at work and they seem like they still have 'teething problems' even doing simple shit like connecting to external monitors.

Plenty of cheap tower PC's. Just make sure 8-16gb ram and fastest processor you can find.

45 linear inches (22 x 14 x 9 in) or 115 centimeters (56 x 36 x 23 cm) including handles and wheels.

Cost less than $1000

And work well with MPC Live 2????

What kind of driver problems specifically are you talking about? Have you ever seen or touchd a Mac, do you know what it is?

For making music, Macs just work. PCs are the crap for which you need drivers and have problems.

He probably means the frequency that they update the os and how long it takes software manufacturers to play catch-up.

What comes to OS update speed, you probably get a less eventful ride with Windows.

Anyway, the Intel Mac minis are well-made, powerful little boxes, excellent for making music, and seemed to fit the OPs description. On PC side, I would build basically a gaming PC from good components. AMD Ryzen etc. But then I don't know about the $1000 price target, and the box will not be small.

My little pc stomps along and only a cheap £450 gbp from Currys (UK major electrical shop).

Intel Pentium Gold
4.10 GHz
Only 8gb, but I'll add another 8gb soon.
And small too, 300x270x90

Something to note here: as of Tuesday, 5 July, 2022, Akai does *NOT* recommend Windows 11, so if your new PC only comes with Windows 11, don't expect any support if something doesn't work:

I can't speak to Mac as I don't own one, but I am aware that some Mac users had issues from certain MacOS updates in the past, so if you do give in to going Mac, keep that in mind. Also, congrats on the MPC Live II - it's a brilliant piece of kit!

I bought a refurb little Acer aspire Core I3 3.3ghz for £50. A tiny 10 x 36.7 x 27 cm. Maxed the ram to 16gb (another £50) and tweaked everything out for performance. Going like a trooper. I've found the MPC software to be very light on it. Granted, it's only used for the MPC software and some IK mastering plugs but it never breaks a sweat no matter what I've loaded up on it.
I think you'll be fine on anything that's come out within the last 6 or 7 years tbh.
