FM Percussion

You can get more FM mileage out of the fm synth model of the percussion drumsynth if
You modify the ranges of the .adsm file . You can also substitute other parameters in too, some work some don’t.

That’s unfortunate. I posted this on FB. Hopefully it makes sense.

We can modify the Drumsynth parameter ranges pretty easily!
If you paste the synth skins for Drumsynth on your SD card under "Synths" (next to the HYPE, Solina, etc.), you can modify a file in there that allows a wider range of adjustment over Drumsynth's knob ranges.
The files are .adsm files in SD CARD>SYNTHS>AIR Music Technology - MPC - DrumSynth>Content.
Within that folder you will see many groupings for each type of drum synth (clap, click, kick, etc,.). Find the .adsm file you want to edit and open it with a text editor. You will see a list of the "Macros" followed by a parrameter number (some internal synth parameter) and then a low and high number between 0 and 1.0. At the end of each line is a Default value and Macro Name. Add more sweep to your 808 kick or a larger tuning range. Have at it!
For instance, here is the Click.adsm file
ParamOffset 1
Macro 0 Param 231 0.03 1.00 0 Def 0.035 Tone
Macro 1 Param 247 1.00 0.00 0 Def 0.40 Speed
Macro 2 Param 242 0.50 0.85 0 Def 0.50 Lowpass

I’m working on figuring out what parameters are what, but this leads me to believe that there are many parameters that we don’t have access to for the Drum Synthesis engine being used behind the scenes.
Maybe it is the AIR Drumsynth 500 reworked?

Good shit, thanks man. I've been into FM drums since the old Korg ER1. Even have an FM Drum VST on the project pile...lol. Someday. Will be messing with this today.
