Has anyone ever got push one to work as a matrix controller with the force on Hakai firmware?
I’ve got the original launchpad working ok, but it doesn’t support lighting of the pads.

Oh, I do highly recommend using force on this firmware it is an eye opener.
Credit due to all those involved in creating it.

One thing is tempting to me (for using it with One): force arranger

I wonder how good (or not) it works

It works well with the one, you can do pretty much everything, maybe have to use the menu a bit more than you normally would. And the arranger works as expected too.

Has anyone here installed it on the X? Does it work well without removing any existing features? I really like the mixer and arranger on the Force and is pretty much the only thing I'm missing on the X for now aside from disk streaming and more audio tracks.

I've made an HAKAI facebook group 7 months ago and we are 2100 members strong today. Follow the following link and see on of the top posts (scroll to the right) were I demonstrate it on my MPC X:

I did the Hakai firmware on my MPC-X. How do you record notes using the MPC pads? I do not have a launchpad like you were using in your video. All the buttons seem to be mapped to something different. Is there a mapping guide for all the buttons on the X that shows how to use them with this Force firmware?
Also how do I access the new plugins (Fabric, OPx4, organ, etc.)? I have all the plugins from the bundle installed but I cannot find them using the Hakai software.

You're booted up as a Force. The Force doesnt have those plugins.

Thanks for letting me know. I think I'll pass on this hack for now until an official release from Akai comes out that includes the mixer and arranger from the Force for the X.

*me hisses @ people not understanding the arranger isnt some point and click drag and drop linear daw*

It wont ever come to MPC because it doesnt suit the workflow. on the force you record all your clips per-scene then you record the overall arrangement by flipping through the scenes while recording to arrangement.

Also to record notes you can do it the easy way and plug in a keyboard (better if its on midi din) but usb should work too. othereise you can tap the notes button to flip through the pad modes.

Actually you don’t need a midi controller. I guess you didn’t read the tips section where I explain how recording works (To use the pads you’ll have to switch from launch mode which is on by default to note mode) I think you’ve also missed the post we’re I share my midi.cfg file we’re all of the buttons are mapped out properly for the MPC X. (By default it is mapped for the MPC One, that’s why the buttons are all over the place). The X actually has more buttons than the Force if you don’t count the 64 pads.

Just hit me a pm here or on Facebook and I’ll share it with you (It’s too soon to give up).

The custom firmware has 2 modes: MPC mode and Force mode. The new plugins will work in MPC mode but won’t in Force mode for obvious reasons.
