is it possible to cycle more than 4 samples per keygroup?

I have a 8 step wave sequence which I want to use in a keygroup 'cyc' & 'rnd'... but I can only have 4 samples per keygroup - is there a work around for this?

No, 4 is the maximum

How about if you spread the samples to separate keygroups mapped to different velocities and run through the waves with velocity in your sequence? Don't put any amp or filter modulation on velocity. This would be a workaround, if you don't need to have normal velocity response.

He's asking specifically for a 'cycle' or 'random' configuration, while the article I wrote is about a 'velocity' configuration. You can increase available velocity layers by using multiple keygroups per note range ( for example, keygroup one covers note C1, velocity 0 to 60, keygroup 2 covers note C1, velocities 61 to 127 = 8 layers 0-127).

But if you set the two keygroups to 'cycle', then the velocity ranges are ignored and the keygroups just all play together simultaneously (i.e. the MPC will simultaneously play one layer from keygroup 1 and one layer from keygroup 2).

But if you do the round-robin cycling completely outside the keygroups, at the MIDI sequence level, by rolling note velocities in the sequence? 1, 16, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96, 112, 1, 16, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96, 112, 1, 16, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96, 112, ... Or random velocities if you like.

Thanks for the replies & ideas, I have come up with a couple of other options.
The first of which is to split the midi seq across 2 channels and therefore use 2 keygroups with 4 samples and the other is to have one sample for note on & one for note off, i.e. hold the the first note/sample (set amp decay to get the right note length) then trigger the next note/sample on note off - of course, the same 2 samples always follow each other but I am getting the 8 samples in one keygroup.
