Strictly speaking, zero fx on a MIDI track. There are many points at which you can add fx, 4 on individual pads/keygroups, 4 across a program, 4 on an audio track, 4 on a sub mix, 4 on the master, plus 4 via send/return bus.

Not currently possible to rearrange fx order in standalone

You can create fx racks and also save custom presets, plus fx settings are copied when you copy a pad or program. What specifically are you wanting to do regarding ‘copy FX’?

If you send the track to a subgroup, you can put 4 more fx on the subgroup, so you have 8 fx.
Then you have sends, so 4 more fixed fx for any tracks.
Then you can apply 4 more fx on the output, but that's in common with all tracks.

Thanks for taking the time on that topic.
I will check out subgroups.
Out of curiosity: why is there this limitation at all? I understand that there is a hardware limit at some point. But when I have only two tracks adding at least 8 effects should be possible with no extra steps.

Same as only having 4 layers per pad, it was a development decision. Ultimately this is a standalone machine with inherent limitations and part of the joy of working with these machines is finding ways to work with the limitations, which often leads to interesting and creative results. Many people also prefer having these limits as it means you don't get option overload.

4 FX on a pad? okay, I really need more, So maybe I can bounce some of the FX using flatten pad, maybe use some of the additional drum FX, perhaps I can use the lfo to simulate that tape wobble instead of using the flavor effect, etc etc.

If you find those limitations too limiting, then using a computer + DAW is maybe the way forward as all standalone hardware has fairly strict limits, and TBF the MPCs are now probably the least restrictive.

As you learn the workflow, there are plenty of positions where you can put fx and you will find the limits are well organized to let you use fx everywhere.
In drum programs, you have 4 fx slot per pad also.
So it's really more then enough.
