That is 'alpha tester' territory, or 'internal testing team' or whatever they call them these days, I don't think there's any of them here on these forums.

Personally I think it's fine being always on, I tend to use custom, but I can see why they've set chromatic as the default. A preferences option to choose the default would be good. They also need to fix the bug where it keeps switching to bank C by default.

my whole mpc doesnt work anymore in controller mode, no sounds, cant press play, nothing works....midi through usb works for 3 seconds after taking it out of usb port and putting it back in, and then doesnt work anymore.... this is horrible why do they offer this download if it bricks your mpc?!?!?!?

:hmmm:

First of all, did you update to 2.11.4 via a USB Stick as recommended? Also, did you reset preferences afterwards? You might also try a different USB3 cable as well as port, as maybe you've got a busted cable. Never had a firmware brick my MPC or Force, ever. But what you describe isn't bricking, anyway.

Seriously after a day of reading the MPC Users Reddit, it seems like "bricking" is now a term the newer gen just throws out when something doesn't work, with no clue what that actually means to 'tech people'.

Sorry kids but if your device still boots and you can still use it, it hasn't turned into a useless brick yet.

I think its reasonable. Pad C has C1 which if anything is a very low note. Defaulting to bank A would put you in useless low low low note territory.

Works great so far after a short "oh no" moment. A drum program was set to Mono which lead to strange behaviour (triggers did not play the sound or the sound would only play for some ms). After setting it to Poly again everything is fine now. Had to download manually though since Software and my X did not find anything.

I'm on 2.11.3 on my mpc live 2. For me 2.11 is more stable than 2.10. I have had problems on 2.10 when copy/pasting notes in longer sequences. Also when cpu/disk load was low. Everything worked but my screen froze in seq mode every now and then. Only option was to hard reset the mpc.
Now on 2.11 this has never happened.

For the MPC One, the 2.11.4 file was at the top of the page on the Akai website. At the bottom with other files, it's still the older version.

Look at the top of the page with the big red buttons to download PC, MAC and USB. The USB download there should be 2.11.4.
