How does everyone think Fabric compares to Hype? I find some Hype presets that I’ve made are pretty nice. Fabric seems a bit limited. It’s like having 2 layered keygroups, but doesn’t bring much new on the table. No modulation matrix or really any capabilities that keygroups don’t already have.
It is tempting though, because you don’t need to keep saving and loading keygroups when finding a sound, and your project files don’t end up being huge.
I guess $99 is pretty much a no brained, so maybe just grab it and figure it out later.

You can think it as basic rompler. Definitely there are usable sounds. If you work standalone mode a lot, I’d buy it( i did as I sketch a lot and finish in daw.).
But if you work in your room or studio mostly which has nice rompler or kontakt or omnisphere kind of thing, you can skip it.

Nope. Always use your brain, lol. Always always.
I use Hype way more than Fabric/Fabric XL. Hype to me is laid out in menus better.
Fabric XL is still a beast. Hype is free.

You cannot modulate your filter cutoff or resonance with your (attached keyboard controller's) mod wheel in Keygroups and save them as Keygroup presets. That's a huge problem, IMHO, and prohibits Keygroups from being truly magnificent. At least on Fabric (as well as all of the other plugins), this is possible. Many of the presets take advantage of this.

I bought this on the $99 deal and did Paypal Pay in 4 to make it easier on the wallet. so like 4 payments of $25 every 2 weeks or so. That's not bad for me and I've already hammer out one song with Fabric XL this weekend. Looking forward to messing around some more with Fabric. I hope the other paid plugins go on sale on Black Friday or around Christmas.

Got a feeling that the sales will end before they drop a new Force firmware. That way they can milk the cow with maximum profit like they did with the MPC.

I don't think they are making so much profit with those new plugins.
The majority of Mpc users are waiting for a discount, maybe some took one of them, maybe very few the bundle.
And I am still not sure if Key61 is a success, I didn't see much hype about it after the release, but I saw Yamaha is upgrading its key station maybe to compete.

At $249 USD, I always thought it was grossly overpriced. At $99 USD, it's certainly in the realm of being more realistic, but for what you get - I still feel it's a little high. Personally I'd gamble and wait for the Black Friday sales to kick in at the end of November. The fact that Fabric XL (which, honestly, that's what you're paying for here) is now on sale for more than half-off it's launch price at leasts proves that they're willing to do sales now on the new plug-in's.

I'd wager it will go on sale during Black Friday for at least $99 USD, but possibly lower, so you likely have nothing to lose by waiting.

Thanks to everyone in the thread. I’ll end up getting Fabric and Op4 if they go on sale on Black Friday, either solo or the MPC instrument collection goes half off. There’s some nice patches but not for MSRP.

Probably a nice lady would spend that much on a dildo these days.. it is worth it I think.
