Playing triton keys recording to the mpc sequencer

I've been trying to accomplish this for a while now, but, no cigar... Can somebody-anybody explain to me how can i play from the triton keys and record what i play to the mpc sequencer? is it possible? I have the 61 key triton

it should be possible. i haven' tused a keyboard for a while but let me see if i can remember. you want to sequnce what you are playing on the triton, right? you're not trying to play the mpc with the triton. that can be done too, but i think you are trying to record midi sequence to play the triton sounds, right. i will go with that.
ok, so i think you need to have the mpc in midi mode on the main sequencer screen. pick the channel you want that corresponds with the triton. so maybe you have a bass line programmed to channel 1 on the triton. on mpc, make sure it says MIDI: 01A underneath the track selection line. this is all dependent on how your midi cables are hooked up too. midi out of triton should go to mpc midi in, and vice versa, unless you are using a midi i/o box with a computer in which case you will have to do the configuring in there to make it talk like that.
so now you should be able to press rec/play on the mpc, start playing your triton, and it should sequence up fine in the mpc. let me know if it works.

I have everything hooked up right, and i can hear the triton when i play but when i press record on the mpc it doesn't record nothin... tyhanks

make sure u go out of the triton into the mpc as well and set the triton time clock to midi

I've been having this same issue. I can hear the Triton tracks through headphones but not with the MPC tracks as well (those play over the monitors attached to the MPC), even though the sequence info has been recorded on to the MPC tracks. Still trying to get into the MIDI thing which is really a whole other beast. I'd like to get an answer to this too...I am sure it will come with time.

I got mine workin, just tryin to remember how i hooked it up when I did...lets see...you switch the (S:DRUM1:OFF) to the Midi option and corespond it with the tritons channel???also try going into the tritons global page and go to the midi section and make sure you got it set to external midi...didnt read the other posts so dont know if anyones mentioned all of this but hope it helps a little.

THEBsK, are you running them through a mixer???cause you wont hear both the mpc and the triton through only the mpc's outs...

oh...and one more thing 808...once you get it workin I'll help you somethin that was fuken me up for a while...In The Global menu go to the midi page, Im not really sure which box it is but at the bottom theres midi filter options...Make sure none on the left margin are checked otherwise once you hit play/record the triton will go back to its default sound...

Yo, thanks for the reply's but this ish is kicking my ass.... I have done everything ya'll told me, still not working... I've got midi in and out going in and out from the triton to the mpc, I've switched the (S:DRUM1:OFF) to the Midi 01a, I've switched the triton to midi 1 also,I set the triton to external midi, I can hear the keyboard threw my monitors when I play but I hit record on the mpc it doesn't record nothin I played... I don't know what say.... thanks anyway.... sk peace

speek...just found out about the mixer thing tonite as it turns out. I have a Behringer Eurorack (small little b@#ch) that should do the trick. I'll try it out. Peaces.

I finally figured it out after 12 months of frustration.. Now I have to share this this info with the people who wants to know about it...


Ok hook up midi cables in and out from the triton to the mpc in and out, make sure you connect to midi in 2 and midi out A of the mpc.. for some reason midi 1 on the mpc doesn't recieve... I don't know whats up with that.. Now go to your triton's global mode and check the external midi tab.. Also scroll down to the midi filter section and uncheck all the tabs on the left... your set for the triton....

Now go to the mpc hold down shift and number 9, it should take you to the midi sync page.. On the sync in section turn your dial to in-2, scroll down to mode and turn it to midi clockm your all set.. hit record on the mpc [lay the triton and it should record what you played... let me know if it works 2fingerz sk

you need to set which input receives midi clock. IIRC default it in 2. go to the tempo/sync screens.
