Deleting (NOT Clearing) Tracks

This is probably a dumb question, but is it possible to delete a track? I know you can Clear a track, but I want to delete it. To be clear, if I have these three tracks:

1. Piano
2. Bass
3. Drums

and I want to delete the bass track entirely and end up with:

1. Piano
2. Drums

Is that possible?

If not, is it at least possible to reorder tracks?

As far as I know, you can't do that.

You might know this already, but the operation you'd want to take would be to:

Copy Track 3 -> Track 2
Clear Track 3

Not really the process or steps you wanted, but it will get you the result you're looking for.

My workaround is to copy track 3 to track 2 and then delete track 3. It sucks to have to do it like that but that's the only way to have your tracks neatly laid out until Akai fixes this.

It won't be "fixed" as long as there is no 1:1 relation to tracks on MPC. On Akai Force, however, this works as expected - delete a track, and all the other ones "scoot over".

We definitely don't want that scoot then!

Since Im using other gear with it, I tend to line up my tracks in the MPC with outputs on my mixer. Tracks 1-8 are always MPC instruments, 9-16 go to my EMU, 17-22 would be my Microwave/3080/Blofeld/Bass Station/Wasp/TD-3.. When they're spread out like that, as long as I don't go apeshit and do a full 8 tracks from each sampler, I've got room to rearrange them later if I need to reorganize them. On top of that, I've got some 'rules' too. Drum breaks are the MPC's job, so tracks 1-4 are always some sort of percussion/drums. Bass goes right to the big bad EMU, always track 9 every time, the basses nasty twisted "top" track is usually track 10. Makes it a bit easier to organize from the beginning if you've got a plan like that.

Although, I usually get pretty far into the project before I do this and usually have to go through like 20 sequences rearranging stuff by the time I sit down and do it haha.

Precisely - data management lacks a lot here.
- Proper standard functions as commenly known. Copy, Delete, Rename - a proper rename, where the attached files are altered to the new name - "error is coming....."
- Track Number functionallity - Copy, Delete, Rearrange.... Drag'n'Drop would make it, I guess....

EDIT: Drag'n'Drop wise - Tinder style: One Side for delete - the other maybe copy.... no real delete, but will do if saved - a pop-up "Are you sure to delete Program/Tracks/Sequence?"
