Hi.
I have been working on a mpc live with a dead display. The display died as i was using the mpc the srceen went black but backlight was still turned on but no image displayed.

I ordered a new one from mpc stuff and when i recieved it i changed it with the defective one and turned on the mpc only to find the same problem backlight ok but no image.

I then tested the mainbord i another working mpc and it worked fine then i tested the new display in the working mpc and had the same results as in the one i am trying to fix.. no image...

I proceeded to update firmware from 2.10.0 to 2.11.4 with the same results...no image...

Mpc stuff says the display is compatible.

I suspect new display could be DOA or just not be compatible with older mpc batches (2017 ish)

Has anyone had a problem like this or am i missing something?

Please let me know if anybody has any ideas as what i could try out.

Thanks.
Mr.elektro.

Ohh and by the way MpcStuff ofcourse offered to send a new one or to give a refund. But they are also working on the problem. So any help is greatly appriciated.

Thanks.

To my knowledge, the exact same display has been in the first-gen MPC Live all the way up to the current MPC Key 61, so I see no reason why that display shouldn't work in your first-gen MPC Live. The only different display is the obviously larger display used in the X.

Hmmmm... this does point to the replacement display being an issue. Are there model numbers scribed onto them? Can you compare the replacement display to the old display - do they appear identical? :hmmm:
