Is it possible to combine 2 programs in one?

Hi,

Let's say I have a keys program named "Piano", with one layer of samples only, and also another program called "Strings"...

Is there a way to combine these two programs in one single multi-layer program named "Piano + Strings"?

You can, but you will need to assign manually all your strings layers in each Piano keygroups, on the 3 remaining "layers per pad"
Better doing this on a empty project to easily browse and assign samples from the Program Edit "Samples" page 1

You could trigger both via MIDI SEND, although I am not close to my software or MPC - not sure whether that works on keygroup programs, too.

There's many ways to achieve layered instruments. With two existing programs, you can use the key ranges feature (in TRACK view, or within the Sounds browser), the 'send to' track configuration (again via track view, or in main > eyball > midi strip).

Or build the instrument manually, either using layers, or by assigning instrument 1 to the first set of keygroups (e.g. kg 1 to 8 ), then instrument 2 to the second batch of keygroups (9 to 16), and then setting the matching note ranges so the sounds overlap.

Go to track view. select "merge" (as opposed to auto or in) for each lane you want to play simultaneously. Then hold shift and tap the record arm icon for the same tracks. Now you can record both at once in UNISON. next if you want some fx what you needa do is route the selected tracks audio into a sub mix and do your fx processing on the summed signal before it reaches the master.

I guess I'll combine the two patches manually...
