Mini D and Flavor Pro released ... with 2.11.6 FW!

I like Moog, some Rolands are nice, but I really like Oberheim and Sequential.

I had a Sub37 and sold it for a Pro3. It was a great decision.
Havent checked out this vst as I've given up on Akai on the whole Vst thing. I dig hardware most of the time so Vst's dont excite me but if I was younger I would be stoked on it. Just because I didnt own as many synths then.

The Flavor Pro looks alright. That maybe the only thing I will purchase from Akai. BTW I'm still on 2.9 or like 2.10 or something... I think I may actually update next week. Been a minute.

Yes, that ist right. You enter your E-Mail-Adress and you are directed to a page were you choose your payment-method. The first input box ist for entering your code.

Should my account name be appearing in this box. I can't figure out if I am a logged in on the screen or not.

It's the MPC store, you don't have to log in. It's placed in a cart and you buy it. Then go to your MPC and activate it.

Oooooh nice! Been looking at the Rev2 lately myself. Got plenty of monos, a couple Waldorfs to handle wavetables, and a Roland rompler for everything else, but missing a decent analog poly.. Was going to go with the Deepmind or maybe a Peak, but man Im thinking just go for it and get the Prophet and be done with it haha. Got tons of software synths here too but the hardware always ends up winning.

So I went ahead and paid for the Mini D. I'm hoping that not only will it sound great -- it does! -- but I can learn to use it and the encoders on the MPC well enough to feel like I'm using a good hardware synth. I still have some learning curve on QLinks to go, btw.

Is there any manual or documentation available for the Mini D?

Yeah I love the Pro3. If I had to choose one synth to keep it would probably be it. It's sound can just go in every direction. As for the Take5 I think its a beautiful sounding synth. When I played it next to a Polybrute I felt the Take5 had a better immediate sound. The one thing about the Take5 is that it can sound pretty aggressive at times if you want it to. It gets a bit of the Pro3 character along with the softness of a poly. In this day in age, if someone had to choose between the Take5 and the Pro3 it would be a hard one. I would say depending on the genre of music your into. I find the Pro3's sequencer is really nice but then again people in this thread own a MPC One, Live or X that does a lot of what it can do there. So it depends on how much your gear and it cross similar territory. I grew up listening and making more than just hiphop so the Pro3 stays for sure. The OB6 is also a nice synth with beautiful character but honestly with the price it is now, it would almost be better to buy a Prophet 5 for the extra little bit. You sacrifice that LFO Sync though which is a little... ya know.. But otherwise...

As for the Rev2. I havent used a Rev2, but I know it can be a chameleon. It can sound like an OB but also like a Proph. It may take a little more programing to get a natural sound using an LFO or 2 to add some movement. I've debated on buying one many times. I feel like they may release another synth in the future though. Maybe a Take5 but an Oberheim style one, but what I would like to see is a 61Key Take10. The other synth I like the sound of is the Summit because of its multiple styles of distortion. If only they made more than 5 Korg Prologues with Aftertouch more people would be happy out there.. Great sounding simple synth but damn it feels weird at times when playing those keys... I sorta wish I never sold it but thats life. Tons of synths, not enough time and money to get them all and have a normal life too.

It worked today. When I tried yesterday, it didn't ask for my email and went straight to a payment screen. I didn't think it was headed the same, or may be I was just thinking too hard

Sub37 wasn't my thing either. Ended up selling mine for a Mono Evolver years back. Also a great choice, but of course reversed my luck again and traded that for a vintage Sh101. Dumb idea, dumb move, especially because the little Sh01 boutique is just as good. Now several years later, I have myself a desktop Evolver. It sits perfectly next to the MPC as my analog mono these days. RIP to Dave Smith who started all this analog revival.
