MPC Live SSD vs SDCARD

The question to those who owns MPC Live with SSD drive - did you notice any performance boost while loading big projects from the SSD drive? Compared with a good SDCARD Class 10 with 100-130MB/sec speed?

I am curious does SSD help in a live performance when you need to load projects as quick as possible.

They both go over the USB bus, so while an SSD drive will give *some* benefits, and will certainly max out the bandwidth of the USB bus, a high end SD Card like a Class 10 can perform comparably.

Not hard data, but I've felt that the SSD is 10%-30% faster than the SD, but that could be me imagining things... it's definitely not 2x or 10x faster, but it has felt a bit faster in general to use SSD over SD.

All I can tell you is that for the Force - since disk streaming appeared - Akai support themselves recommend installing an SSD in the SATA cradle for best performance. Full stop.

Now whether that difference in performance is negligible or not, beats me - all I know is that is what Akai recommends, and for that reason I'm totally fine with my SATA SSD's in both my MPC as well as my Force.

They probably recommend SSD for a better handling of filesystem calls and small chunks of data. („projects“ contain a lot of different files).
While removable media can often deal quite well with larger data sections (like photos or tracks), it may totally break down with many small files and folder structures.
I also prefer to buy media with high throughput figures, but one has to consider that these were measured under optimal conditions.
