From a Manufacturer point of view....Sliders take up more real estate on the unit vs Potentiometer Knobs. Knobs cost less than Sliders too. Production costs can be reduced with Less Knobs & More Touchscreen features. The more Hardware features, the Higher the Retail Price at the end of the day.

It probably cost more to make an Old School Flip Phone with Buttons, vs An All Touchscreen Phone

I read somewhere that the original idea of keyboard was a force but they changed it to an mpc. Sorry for the miss-info if not true.

All to the good J.O.

I bet if that Force kybd became real Force peeps would grab it and like it just as much as mpc peeps like their Keys61’s. My ONLY gripe is X spoiled me 16 qlinks. Keys61 has me memorizing the qlink banks and I’m accidentally moving parameters that I shouldn’t. If I had started out on Live this would be easier.

IF, another mpc and/or kybd comes out it NEEDS a tilt screen. No one likes to sit hunch-back over a screen. I love you but yeah I’m (hunched-back) looking at you Kronos 2.

NO ONE!

lol two years and i still make the wrong selection all the time. it doesnt help that the qlink selection shifts around on its own as you flip through screens. It didnt used to but since 2.10 has been that way which eneded up making me pay more attention to the qlink selection light. :(

Similar sure, but clearly not the same...

Looking at the pic, the Keys61 came out pretty much like the leaked pic.
Why does Force 6 have the empty space between keys and screen/buttons?

I'd like one with a more powerful processor, maybe a 13th Gen Intel, I sample long vocal takes so 32Gb of ram would be good.
Storage should be a priority so at least a 1Tb drive, and I like the touch interface but why not usb mouse and keyboard support ?
HDMI would be good so I can plug in an external monitor too.

Call it the MPC Advanced Composer Pro
You could shorten that to M.A.C. Pro 8)

I doubt the mpc xl would be a force keyboard.

I would like them to make a classic styled unit less blocky shape; traditional style with the slider; maybe 2 rows of q link knobs, along with the old style data wheel.

I still say if they took the mpc studio black; made it a bit bigger, added a slider and a row of q links; and a touch screen that would be perfect

I hear you... but it won‘t happen :WTF:
As a late starter with the silver Studio, I installed about any version of the software available, from 1.2 Essentials to MPC 2.x.
There‘s a clear path of giving up the old style in favor of their „integrated DAW“ approach, up to the point where the Studio becomes almost unusable.

That‘s why I decided for a classic model, and though the MPC4k is a bit exotic with an extra layer of complexity, I‘m really happy with it... :smoker:
(it‘s a fixed function machine, you know few in the beginning, but you also know that it will not change and you just have to learn what‘s there)

What I want is less paid DLC and more focus on MPC core functions which are sampling and sequencing. No need for a powerful CPU for re-ordering tracks, or allowing seamless transitions between a song and a sequence, or being able to control the fitler of a keygroup with a modwheel...

If the keygroup engine was more powerful there would be no need for plugins such as Fabric and it could even be more efficient from a RAM/CPU perspective.

At least I hope for that NOT to be the case. For starters a completely new OS would be as basic as it gets because I don't think they would wait until the OS is "done" or at least on par with the current one feature wise. Also why would you want an incompatible or completely new OS? From a software dev and an economic standpoint that would not make sense at all tbh. What they should do is maybe fork the current base and build on that but not make it incompatible from the start.

This should be an easy one anyway as it is merely an edit in an index table which is easy if you reference correctly. And it would help me sosososo much.
