Mpc failed to load the project Error loading/media/3166-3039

Suddenly the project i was working on the mpc is not opening, i got this error Mpc failed to load the project Error loading/media/3166-3039 is it posible to rescue i have a gig tomorrow and i was playing this project. Is sooooooo frustrating if somebody knows how this can be solved please add detail im sooo sad

Hey, this exact same thing is happening to me...did you ever figure out how to fix it?

A couple of very important projects stopped opening all of a sudden and I get the same error message, except (of course) after media / ...my external drive's details are displayed.

I'd really appreciate any one's help.

The same occured to me. Hopefully there is a way to retrieve or fix the damaged file.

This sounds horrible..did you try to load a backup of the project from another media?

Aaaaaaaand on that note - always make backups of your data, kids!

Yes I did but to no avail.

Did you try loading the project files into the MPC Software? If they load, re-save them and try in standalone again.

I did but I get the exact same error in the MPC software.

Ran into the same error yesterday (Project Failed To Load) on MPC Keys. I've been saving a song that I was working on to a thumb drive, and overriding each iteration as I went. The last save must not have processed properly, and I got this error.

Here's how I recovered the project.

Put the thumb drive into my computer, either Mac or PC, you have to locate the project folder for that particular project, it should contain all of your samples, and several other settings applicable to your project.

Copy that folder to your desktop and then back onto the thumb drive so that it's visible when you plug the thumb, drive back into your MPC.

Once you're back on your MPC, navigate to that folder, and load everything that is not a sample. If the MPC says this already exists, choose the override and load it anyway.

Eventually, you will have loaded all of your sequences, all of your drum sample programs, and whatever other miscellaneous things that made up that project.

This worked for me and I was able to recover my entire song, and then resave it. I'm sure this was already mentioned somewhere on the forums, but hopefully this helps somebody

unmount and remount the card. if it doesnt work, plug it into the computer and run a file system check on the file system. if it notifies you of dirty bits choose yes to correct it. When done plug it back in to the mpc. otherwise the card is failing.
