Deleting unwanted programs and plugins from the hidden folde

This is probably not the safest way to get around the memory overload issues I’ve read in this site, but I have managed to recover system memory by manually deleting unwanted programs and plugins manually from within the hidden folder. I haven’t had any serious side effects yet (apart from an error message when I reload the project) but it seems to be a way to work around the fact that once loaded, one cannot completely remove programs, drums sets and plugins from a project. As anyone had problems managing the excruciatingly small memory in the MPC X?

I've got the exact same memory/RAM on my Live II and Force, and I've never had an issue managing it. You must be loading up a metric ton of samples and/or plugins that eat RAM. What's a typical Project look like on your X?

Try 16mb on ASR-10, on which I've made complete songs on, w/ vocals, on several floppies.

MPC X's ram is well more than enough to get stuff going.

Yep, I got whole songs with vocals recorded on ASR-10 floppies too. I was just going through some whole songs yesterday of songs I recorded with some R&B singers I saved a long time ago because somebody called me up and asked to send some songs with vocals to an A&R for an R&B singer yesterday. The ASR-10 was my first digital multitrack machine. I got some very high quality digital recordings out of it. Saving songs across several floppies was crazy to me. It was always a risk, even a risk to save to floppy period because they're always fragile. Your whole hours of work could die at the power switch if you didn't record your works. Whether you saved or not, as no floppy was guaranteed.

I still got literal crates of ASR disk sounds bought and traded stuff still unconverted to a wav format or zip drive. I bought Chicken Systems Translator but haven't got around to mass deconstructing and converting the stuff yet. The ASR-10 is a one of a kind masterpiece and they'll never be another exactly like it. I got two ASR-10s one works, and the other one display played out. This guy was making new displays as a new company I know, but he disappeared without a trace half way through the process. I hope somebody take up making new LEDs again, though, that would be cool.
