I wish to pause a sample assigned to a pad. And then resume.

I wish to pause a sample assigned to a pad. And then resume when pressed again. Is this possible. I want it to play in the back ground, stop it, play another sample and then resume the 1st sample.

I would also like start a sample by pressing the pad and then stop that sample and not let it finish the entire time allotted. Just cut it off by pressing the pad again.

you will need to read some manuals and watch tutorials to know how your instrument work and if it's able to do what you want... The MPC is great, but you need to fit with its workflow, there is no other ways...

Hint : a pad make a reference to a audio file ," sample",... you can do anything you want to the section of the file you are using in you pad.
So it's in the
PROGRAM EDIT menu and the PAD MUTE menu...

Read up on MUTE GROUPS and use a diff pad (volume =0) as a cut off pad.

Lots of peeps are going directly at “I wanna do this, I wanna do that” and not getting to know their machines first. This is CORRECT! We all have to work within the machine’s limits/capabilities, no matter what we want, the machine can only do what it can do! It can do alot! Sometimes ya gotta combine features and options to get 1 thing going.

No...But That Would Be A Dope Feature Tho! A "Note Pause" or a "Two Shot" feature in the Trigger portion of Program Edit.

It would be a dope core MPC workflow feature. EDIT> By that I mean, a feature to improbe the MPC core workflow instead of approaching it to a DAW feature.
For now, what I do is decide where in the sample I want to pause it and chop the sample in 2 pads, the initial part in one and the final part in the other.
