Batch tag MP3/WAV BPM

As the title says, do you all have any recommendations for software that could batch tag MP3/WAV files? I have hundreds of loops that I want to add the BPM to.

Are you talking the filename or the actual data? Mac or PC?

Myriad will do batch ACID/metadata. Unfortunately now that Zynaptic owns it, you have to buy it as part of their $400 'Mac Apps Bundle'. They bought all of Audiofile's apps and rolled em into a bundle and have no plans to split it up.

Barbabatch will do it too but that's also right under $400. Not sure if you can do it with Wavelab, I've never tried batch processing or messing with file metadata in there.
Those batch editors that can do ACID/metadata aren't cheap.

i use it too (mp3tag) but that one cannot access metadata

Looks like I need to sit down this weekend and learn to use the batch processing in Wavelab finally haha.
Realized you can do this in Cubase as well, last night. Cubase's Mediabay can do a crap load of files all at once too once you setup your sample directories and it's finished scanning everything.

Mixed in key is the best for this imo. It detects and tags automatically.

An actual MPC user created a free utility that will scan all WAV samples and add BPM to it. Only issue is it doesn't do MP3 and it only does 4/4 time sig. He made it primarily for Splice samples:

You know I bought that on Black Friday and cant get the stupid plugin to show me ANYTHING in Cubase heh.
Every time I run a sample into the standalone app that's got a key marking, it always detects a different key too.
Good thing I only paid $20 or so for it. The freebie 'Keyfinder' on MacOS still works better just like my actual tuner.

I've never used the plugin although I have that version. I always thought that would be wonky. I use the main software. It scans tags and renames and metadatas everything quick as heck and easy to undo anything even after you close and reopen. For BPM its usually spot on and for key its right about 85 percent of the time. It can do an ungodly amount of files in a short time. I tried them all but nothing was as quick as Mixed in Key and I have had questionable experiences with trying to autodetect key in other programs.

To be fair last time I tried to use it was in Wavelab (didn't want to load a whole Cubase project up just to look at a wave file in the MediaBay), so maybe Wavelab has some 'quirks' about it.

Honestly, most of the time I don't even bother. I have this site bookmarked, https://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/, and since I use the MPC standalone, I just open up my browser on the computer and play a note and check the samples that way.

Just have to remember to shift things an octave up on the tone generator. The MPC is one of the 'Middle C=C3' MIDI devices, and the tone generator uses the 'standard' 262Hz/Middle C = C4.
