Layering over Drum Loop

So,
I’m familiar with layering drums on pads but what suggestions would you have to layer on top of a loop. For instance, I have an acoustic loop I like but want to fatten up. I’ve had ok success just dubbing over it but I’d like to layer each drum instrument and line up to hit simultaneously.

yeah it works u can do this with other techniques too like "ny compression"

Sample edit, chop by threshold, manually adjust chops to beginning of each hit in loop, create new program, check create events, dial in correct bar length.

Now you have the loop sequenced but each hit on its own pad. You can layer from there

This trick is a game changer for anybody who doesn’t know. Seriously, don’t sleep on this.
