Auto Sampler

1. Option 'Fade Out (Tail)'
2. Saving samples immediately - & free memory, so you never get the error message 'Out of memory!
(ex. piano 81 keys, 4 layers, note length 12 s)

1. Tempo changes within sequences, for example gradual descending tempo over time, without having to mimick it with multiple sequences in song mode.

2. Like many others will have mentioned: Disk streaming!

There is definitely a segment of MPC customers like myself who buy a Live II for backing tracks, because we don't trust computers on stage and we like it for having multiple output channels, a decent amount of internal storage, having a Lithium battery, and an easy way of triggering samples live. If we get disk streaming, we're covered.

Tempo changes inside sequences would be fantastic, as I wouldn't need to bounce metronome audio tracks, but could just use the internal Metronome at all times and continue to use NEXT SEQ for triggering backing tracks, which I believe to be the simplest way to trigger samples live (Song mode requires too much fiddling around on the touch screen in a live situation in my experience).

Current behavior: In the sample edit screen, it's only possible to discard sections of a sample in trim mode, not chop mode. If the sample is already chopped, you can't simply say "I want to delete the section of audio defined by chop 9." Instead, you have to go to trim mode, move the start and end time to match the start and end time of chop 9, delete it, then go back to chop mode and delete the inexplicably newly created chop 1 (length 0 at the very beginning of the sample) and then the now length 0 chop 9.

Desired behavior: Ability to select delete the audio and slice of a specific chop. Subsequent chops would be reduced by one digit and have their start and end time locations updated to account for the change.

Why?: Yes, it is possible to simply not assign a chop to a program. But it's still often really useful to be able to make destructive edits to samples. And the chop mode is extremely well thought out and fast for defining different sections of the sample, whereas the edit mode is comparatively clunky and slow. It's like going back to the 90s.

This seems like it would be really easy to implement and dramatically speed up the workflow for editing samples.

Reading zip files directly into memory instead of extracting and storing on hard drive.

Allow Mapping of midi CC's to the MPC transport controls.Currently they only work with MMC and a few midi devices don't support sending MMC for transport. Akai's own new MPK Mini Plus controller only sends cc's for its transport controls and will not allow you to control the transport of the MPC. Strange oversight on their part.

Or an epic business strategy.. what better way to keep you buying controllers in search or the one that works. (the mpk249 mpk261 etc, none of the cheaper keyboards)

Hello,

I am the author of the online document which initiates this long topic (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tVz ... Lo8Hc/edit).

If you don't mind, I'd like to remove this document. In addition to not having enough spare time to arrange, edit, and organize it, I think that Akai is very disappointing concerning the update process (in terms of communication, professionalism, etc.). It's a personal point of view, which was forged with three years of beta programs and hunderd of requests and bug reports with many editors. So I am leaving the Beta program as well (and probably will sell my MPC Live which I never really used for gigs, but I will give an Ultros hack shot before), and this document, which is yet abandoned for years now, is not relevant anymore. I can give you the right to manage it, but I really think it's useless. It would be better to write a new one from scratch. Anyways, since Akai won't read it or consider it in any way, what's the point?

What do you think about it?

Thanks for letting me know,

creal.

The fact that they can't fix bugs tells everything one can expect of them about feature requests.

Improve reverb algorithm. Add ducking feature to reverb and delay in their own settings (very nice to have) . In order to reduce the mudding effect.
Improve pitch shifting algorithm.
Eleminate major clicking issues on many of the effects They are finicky..
Allow a few more effects max (6 instead of 4)
Make audio interface function work properly
Allow Bluetooth audio streaming into an audio track
Make more drum kit plug ins and allow at least two kits to be run in plug in mode.
Improve sync between standalone and mpc 2 software. It's not very fluid between the two...
Improve the volume curve of the main volume knob, currently it's not very linear.
Make templates for popular midi controllers to improve usability of the mpc stand-alone platform.
New year wish list!

You have 4 per pad, 4 per pgm/submix, 4 on master.

In total you have 12 to freely assign from sample all the way thru to master out.
There’s even 4 on return/sends.

8 separate submixes. 4 separate return/sends.

What specifically are you looking for that can't already be achieved with drum synth and sample programs?

I have a dîner to get to so for now just a short answer. There is nothing that can't be worked around on this powerful platform. Yes I have been loading drum programs with samples but I do not like working with samples unless I have to. I'm not from the MPC platform, I'm pretty old school. The loading time the limited memory, the fact it saves samples for every instance of a project... It's not ideal.

The drum synth plug in is Insane too. I just wish there were more sounds in it.. A full 16 pad.. But for basic beats they are just crazy. You can fully customize anything about each sound... Lots of presets inside the patch as well. The customization potential is nearly unlimited. No need for tons of different samples loaded in memory... With more plugin instances or at very least a full 16 pad of sounds within the plugin, the need for having loaded drum samples would be lower keeping memory free for large audio tracks if needed.

But yeah everything can be worked around but it's a bit more work and inconvenient.
